yoo kihyun grew up as an only child to a single mother, which led to him growing up to be self-sufficient. he worked various side jobs through high school to support his mother when they were going through a financial rough patch. anytime he needed anything, he'd always find a way to get it without having to rely on anyone. as a result of this, he always found it hard to ask for anything, even if it's something as minor as a ride to work. kihyun was always one to help people out, which led him to find his passion in the healthcare field, working as a doctor in a large hospital. despite the long hours and the heavy workload, there's nothing kihyun loves more than being on the unit caring for his patients.

kihyun in his personal life and kihyun at work are like two different people: at the hospital he is kind and talkative with his patients and coworkers, showing a friendlier and more approachable side. in his personal life, though, he mostly prefers to keep to himself. he does go out and enjoys socializing with friends and acquaintances, but he chooses to not let people in or let them know much about his private life. once he has a few drinks in him, though, a totally flirty side comes out, and he has a habit of occasionally sleeping around even though it has come back to bite him in the a few times.
