Born to the lower class spectrum of society with a weak younger sibling, a father who was killed on a case when Jiyeon was only at the age of sixteen and a mute mother, she was forced to open her eyes to reality at an incredibly young age.

She had never known any type of luxury. While her father, who was a police officer, strived to make things easier for his family, that was never the case. Her younger brother always had to stay in ths hospital, and was rarely out of it. Her father struggled to pay it on his own, and a kindhearted relative helped pay for his expenses. That only added up as a blow to her father's pride, and he worked harder, fiercer, until he rarely had time to be home.

Because of her mother's circumstances, Jiyeon had always tried her best to fight off those who would abuse her mother or make fun of her. Like her brave father, she learned how to stand up for herself, daring herself to even fight against those bigger than her own petite self. She was no stranger to street brawls, albeit only with peers around her age. She was no stranger to pain nor dirty fights. She had always hated those who picked on others who were weaker than them, and having been taught by her parents to always stand up by what she thought was right, she never ever let herself be shut down.

She wanted to help people, and if she had to harm herself for it, then so be it.

Thinking about her parents' hardwork, she began to learn about all sorts of things to help ease financial problems. She did more than her best in her studies so that she would be exempted from paying her tuition fees, and all while doing that, she applied for several jobs. She sold herown craft, tutored people of her age, and as time passed by, she became what one would call a jack of all trades. 

However, when her father was killed by the suspect of a case he was working on when she was sixteen, life became several times harder — and Jiyeon was suddenly faced with the fact that she was on her own. Her mother barely made anything on her own, with her as a maid for a wealthy family. Her younger was in the hospital, with his bills getting paid for by a relative. with her father's death, she was left on her own to mature once more.

She didn't let that drag her down, however.

Instead, she worked harder. She pushed herself beyond her limits in order to at least stabilize her life. All the money she made went to her family and never for herself, thus she hadn't have much time to indulge herself. That was fine, she supposed. as long as she could pay for her family's expenses, it was fine. The wealthy family her mother works for let her work at the restaurant they own, so long as her grades don't fail.

With a newfound determination in her slowly stabilizing life, she decided to be a journalist — she wants to be the voice for those who cannot speak. She wants to stand for those who cannot stand for themselves.

PERSONALITY Jiyeon on normal days can be one of the friendliest people you will ever meet. Too loud and cheerful for her own good, she warms up to strangers fairly easily. Extremely observant when it comes to many things—such as politics, turmoil within the student body, etc.—she is however, incredibly dense when it comes to anything related to her. If anything, she's more likely to notice your sadness first than her being sick.

With that said, she pushes herself too hard and far beyond her limits — which often ends up with her collapsing or passing out. Her work ethic is extreme, and while she knows she shouldn't expect the same for others, she finds herself slipping into her former self even though she believes she has changed. She is an efficient and effective leader — however, her methods may not always work for everyone, even if she means well.
