"Your brother has been married for three years now, and even your younger sister is going to be married in a few months. Shouldn't you, too, be looking for someone to settle down with?"

Junghoon rolled his eyes, closing the book he has been trying to read for the past fifteen minutes and putting it back onto the tabletop, near his cup of tea. He could feel the stare of his mother, drilling holes into his body with her piercing eyes, yet he couldn't make himself look back at her. He knew what was going to happen.

 

 

 

His mother would start going on about him being their eldest son and with that, the rightful heir of his father's firm and he, slightly irritated but nevertheless polite would have to remind her that he had no interest in the stock market and that his younger brother was way more suitable for this job than him. Then, the topic would die down for a minute or two, before she'd start going on about him being single at the age of 28 and reminding him, that she had already given birth to him and his brother when she was his age.

"Mother, please. Junghwi can inherit the firm, I don't want it. I'm happy with what I'm doing and with what I have, and I--" he fell silent rather abruptly, making his mother look at him with curiosity flashing in her eyes. What if... what if he could fool her into thinking that... ah, what an absolutely great idea! Why hasn't he thought about it earlier? It would have saved him so much time that he's spent fighting with both of his parents.

"Junghoon? What is it, tell me?" his mother grabbed his hand, shaking it slightly.

Junghoon smiled calmly, leaning back in his seat as he glanced at her, mentally patting himself on the back for his ingenious idea.

"I actually do have someone that I might want to settle down with."

rather tranquil and self-effacing, junghoon isn't truly your typical introvert. he spends a lot of time on his own, however, he doesn't shun contact with other people - the fact that most of then aren't worth his attention is but a completely different thing. he's venturous, impetuous and a bit too bold for his good. feminist and non-conformist who's not afraid to fight for his beliefs with his fists.

he's pretty stubborn, once gotten his mind onto something he won't change it too easily. the type to read and understand the rules before trying to break them. infamous for having almost been thrown out of the academy, choi junghoon could be pretty much the example of a man that wealthy families warn their overly naïve children about - he doesn’t care much about social statuses and it isn’t rare to see him talk to staffs just as freely as one would do with people their age.

the male is intelligent enough to keep himself out of any major troubles, but he loves the thrill that they make you feel too much to listen to his well-developed common sense. contrary to most of the educated scholars, junghoon's wildest dream (that he tries to fulfill every day) is to be just like one of kerouac's characters - wild, ever-questioning and stunning in a way that could make anyone’s heart skip a beat.
