despite growing up with everything he could imagine, sehun wasn't in any way satisfied with his life. money and materialistic items didn't interest him, unlike his family. his family boasted about their wealth religiously, while their youngest son refused to utter a single word about their heavy pockets. it didn't take too long for his parents and siblings to catch on to his unhappiness, and after a falling out, sehun found himself banned from the oh household. not that he was too disappointed, of course. attention and affection were never a part of his family's ways to begin with.

at just the age of sixteen, sehun scoured the city for places to stay and meals to keep his belly full, but without a way to compensate for those needs, he quickly grew cold, fatigued, and insanely hungry. ignoring that gnawing desire for nourishment proved to be an impossible feat. he couldn't think straight; he felt insane. the hunger became too overwhelming, and something inside of him snapped.

the taste of flesh...it didn't even register in his mind that he was feasting on one of his own. if it had, the horror he would have felt would have been his demise. never before had sehun ever thought of hurting another living being, yet here he was, defiling one in the most unimaginable way possible.

unbeknown to him, satisfying his hunger by vile means cursed him to forever live the life of an atrocious, gargantuan monster -- a wendigo.

sehun recklessly hunted and caused destruction for thousands of years until he fell very ill sometime in the 1800s and was hospitalized. the woman caring for him provided guidance he didn't even know he needed and, perhaps, thawed his icy heart just enough, inspiring him to become part of the medical staff he is now- a nurse. instead of hindering others, sehun is able to help them, making him much happier than he ever was before. when he was offered a job on a remote island where he'd be surrounded by other supernaturals, he just couldn't say no.

sehun is very much a man of few words. despite his caring and empathetic nature, he finds it difficult to explain things about himself or show much emotion. he fears attachment because of what and who he is, worried that his ungodly appearance in the true wendigo form will frighten those he holds close. for now, he chooses to keep that a secret, hoping that no one will ever come across him during a hunger phase.
