jennie did not always live in the magical town of magnolia, before she met her ex-fiance she was a simple college student who wondered what she was going to do once she graduated. she majored in genetic sciences and was pretty gifted when it came to studying the make up life, but above all she loved to write. she read any book she could get her hands on but she stritcly stayed away from anything that related to the real world. it was a break from school, her parents, and other pressures in her life. she always imagined a world where she was the one in crontrol and everything went her way. her parents thought it was something she would grow out of until she hinted at the "silly" idea of beoming a writer which they quickly dismissed. they always thought jennie was a smart girl who could go above a beyond, and they pushed her to do other things that would benefit her instead of focusing on enjoyment. it was the reason why she majored in genetic sciences, she soon forgot about becoming a writer and focused on her studies. but the idea never left her, she ended up joining the newspaper club in college as she studied, and did internships in the field when she told her parents she was doing co-ops at the local labortory facility. this was also the time she met her ex-fiance, he was a demon with good intentions and her neighbor in the same apartment she lived in. he never told her what he was until they started dating. she never told her parents she was with anyone until he proposed to her after 3 months of dating, but little did she know he had impregnated another girl he was friends with. they were in the midst of planning a wedding and eventually they moved in together with the approval of their friends and family despite them being together for such a short amount of time, everyone thought they were meant to be. but the last time jennie saw her ex-fiance was the day they had an argument that quickly revealed the affair he had. he left jennie stunned as she stood in the middle of their apartment, but she waited for him. she thought it was her fault and maybe they were moving too fast and rehearsed an apology for all the hours she waited for him to come back, but he never did. without a trace he was gone. jennie was embarrassed and miserable as the days to their wedding became shorter and shorter. she didn't know how to tell her parents her fiance disappeared, she knew she would be pitied by everyone and seeing people look at her with sad eyes or expressions of "i-told-you-so" would have killed her. instead, she announced they decided to get married at the courthouse and went on their already paid for honeymoon in magnolia. she was out of the country all by herself and loathing her presence every passing second. it wasn't until she was on a tour with all the other tourist and learning about the beachy town and its history. jennie had found her real life escape and she wanted to stay, going back home seemed out of the option since she told everyone she was married.
