the loud screaming, shouting and tears eventually came to an end at the age of 5. her father had left, leaving both the 5 year old kim minju and her mother alone. minju's mother was a lot happier and the two spent their time together happily even though they were struggling financially. as a little girl, seeing her mother cry because of the man who had left had always broke her heart and she yearned to see her mother happy and at the age of 5 years old, she got just that. minju never had toys growing up and relied on school funding to get her her school supplies, but she was happy. her mom took her to the park near their home every other day after work and they would look at the flowers together. even when the flowers withered, they always seemed to grow back the next season. entering middle school, her mom fainted one day in the kitchen and when they made it to the hospital, the doctors discovered that it was cancer. it wasn't at a dangerous stage yet, but to keep up with the extra cost of treatment, minju had to start working even though her mom advised against it. that's when she started working several jobs from fast food to doing other students' homework. this all lasted until high school. it was two days before her graduation, her mom had been growing weak but was determined to see her daughter graduate, but her body failed her first. two days before graduation, her mother passed away and minju did not attend graduation. cleaning up her mother's room, she saw a letter about the flowers that her mother was going to give her for her graduation. she visited the shop where her mother ordered from and that was when she decided that she was going to be a florist for her mother, to cherish the memories they had together.

In middle school and high school, minju worked hard and studied hard. she made friends when she first entered both schools, but they eventually all left her due to her lack of communication - first due to her lack of time because she was always working and second, due to her lack of a device to communicate on. she always used the school library computers to do any digital assignments and only had contacts in the form of an email account. Therefore, it made it more difficult for minju to keep any friends. bullies who did try to bully her for lunch money never really succeeded because she lacked any money in the first place. she also only did other people's homework from other schools nearby so that she would not get caught. so eventually, she became a loner in all her classes and never spoke to anyone except teachers in school and student customers from other schools. so during graduation, most people probably did not even know a kim minju existed. despite having good grades, minju also did not apply for colleges because she was scared of being a financial burden and wanted to work full-time as soon as possible to help her mother. 
Minju is a calm and patient person who never loses her cool. She remained strong and sturdy because of her mother's endless support, BUT BECAME MORE TIMID AT HER MOTHER'S PASSING. A WALK IN THE PARK AND BEING SURROUNDED BY HER FAVOURITE THINGS OFTEN KEEP HER MIND AND HEART AT PEACE. SHE IS SOFT-HEARTED AND TRIES TO HELP PEOPLE WHENEVER SHE CAN (IT OFTEN TAKES SOME COURAGE FOR HER TO DO SO AS SHE HATES BEING IN THE SPOTLIGHT). HER EMPLOYER, WHO IS THE HEAD FLORIST OF HER FLOWER SHOP BECAME LIKE HER SECOND PARENT AFTER HER MOTHER PASSED AS IT WAS ALSO HER FIRST FULL-TIME JOB WHERE SHE HAD ZERO EXPERIENCE. ALTHOUGH, SHE IS WHAT MINJU WOULD CONSIDER A "SECOND MOTHER", MINJU IS A VERY PRIVATE PERSON AND EVEN THIS "SECOND MOTHER" DOES NOT KNOW WHEN MINJU'S BIRTHDAY IS OR ANYTHING ABOUT HER FAMILY BACKGROUND.

- she owns a nokia phone WITHOUT INTERNET and is completely off social media - although she has spending money now, she doesn't see the need for the ~latest phones~
- she has only done laundry by hand her whole life
- her favourite flowers are camellias and marigolds 
- PRIOR TO LIVING IN THIS APARTMENT (that her employer arranged for her after finding out how she lived before) she lived in poor conditions and only having the bare necessities

- MINJU DOES NOT DISLIKE MEN OR HATE MEN, REGARDLESS OF WHAT HER FATHER DID, BUT SHE SIMPLY DOES NOT TRUST THEM AND WHILE SHE KEEPS EVERYONE IN HER LIFE (WHICH CONSISTS ONLY OF HER EMPLOYER AND ONE COWORKER) AT A DISTANCE, SHE KEEPS MEN FURTHER AWAY.
