The beginning for him wasn't pretty, his birth mother died not long after he was born and his father - well, Sehun had no clue who he was. His birth certificate only listed his mother and he was fine with that. By the time he found out all of this information, it didn't mean much to him, if anything at all, and he had his own life to live. The real start to his life was in an orphanage and it wasn't the greatest, nor was it the worst. The caretakers were strict and sometimes abusive, but at least they were fed most of the time and they didn't leave too many permament physical marks. But the mental scars - now, that's another issue that Sehun can't see for himself. There was definitely something sketchy going on looking back on it, probably using the government funds for their own benefit. As children though, they didn't quite understand what was going on but being well behaved had good results so, that's what they did.

Was Sehun the most outgoing kid in the world? Definitely not but he was always more on the quiet side and that worked out well in this kind of environment. By the time he was 7 years old, he was adopted by a middle class human family. They were a nice family and they raised him right for all intents and purposes. Sehun did extremely well in public school and looked after his younger siblings like he should. His quiet temperament became more friendly and outgoing as he grew up. Sure, his adoptive parents couldn't afford getting him into a better school but he was fed and treated well, given his past experience, this was an upgrade.

However, entering his teenage had led to an entirely new problem. Sehun had reached the age for heats and his first was terrible. He was always in good health from playing sports and eating well, but his first heat had led to a whole week out of school. His entire body ached and he had a mild fever, he has never been this ill before, so it hit him quite hard. The sudden drop in his health had concerned his adoptive parents and they brought him to the hospital. It was there that a doctor, who was a fellow beta, recognized his symptoms and explained that he was "different". Now, as a prepubescent teen especially, that was the absolute last thing that you would want to hear. And that was not even the worst part, the actual worst was that he couldn't remain with his human adoptive family. The doctor reported his circumstances to wolf friend of his, who was a social worker and had placed him with an all-wolf family.

This new family was much better off financially than his original adoptive family and you would think that would be better - it wasn't. This new family had their own biological children and they treated them better, it was understandable in his mind. Sehun wasn't abused physically or starved but he was definitely neglected in the ways that mattered. His adoptive siblings often had scathing comments about his status as a beta and the typical jealous behavior of having a new child in the family but he had a thick skin and it didn't bother him too much. Once they realized that their parents didn't care for him either, they ignored his existence. That was perfectly fine with him, since he was far too busy learning about his own situation as a rare beta.

Sehun was a spare child in this family and a good one at that because he excelled in everything at his new private school from sports to exams. He was first in all of his subjects and a friendly person so he got along with everyone, except when he was mutually ignoring his adoptive siblings. He adapted to his situation in this new family but his status as a rare beta that took a while. A rare beta's body was different and that made it harder to accept, but it wasn't impossible and eventually he was okay with it. Once he figured how to deal with his heat and learned about alphas and omegas, he decided his circumstances could definitely be much worse.

After entering a prestigious university, Sehun was finally able to live a little without dealing with his adoptive family. He had his whole life planned out and at the very top, it was getting rid of his ity. A couple parties later, he was no longer a and realized he liked the buzz of alcohol too. The one thing he drew the line at was relationships, not only because his school had mainly humans but he simply wasn't interested. Sehun enjoyed himself while he was able to but didn't let it get out of hand like most students. Medical school had always been the plan for Sehun since highschool and even far back as middle school because it was financially stable. Although, Sehun wasn't personally close to many wolves, he did understand that they didn't have it easy. Many wolves were different biologically, including himself, and having the option to see a doctor or have a surgery wasn't so simple. If he can contribute to a community he was a part of, then that's what he would do. Besides, with this type of career his adoptive family would be willing to support him financially, where his scholarships wouldn't be able to and even better, it will allow him to eventually get out from under their thumb.

By adulthood, he would work in a human hosptial and offer his services at the clinic when wolves needed them. Once he settled into his own place and began to earn enough money to support both himself and have some extra on the side. Sehun made sure to give money regularly to his first adoptive family because they raised him well and their only fault was being human. Next, he paid back his adoptive family for their financial support when raising him and schooling. After he paid back his debts, Sehun kept his distance from them because they were controlling and still didn't treat him as they should, so he simply didn't bother being around them. He would still go out and enjoy himself at a bar or club if he's in the mood but mainly kept to his simple and quiet life.

As a child, Sehun quickly learned that having a smart mouth and a short fuse did him no favors. A couple of scoldings and beatings always put kids like him on the right track, the scars on his body were proof of that. He was a quick learner and became quiet, keeping to himself but was friendly to other children. The first couple years with his first adoptive family brought him out of his shell and right when he started to feel safe about being outspoken, he was shoved right back in.

Again, something was wrong with how he behaved and on top of learning he was a beta, it made him reserved. The underhanded comments about his status and being an orphan, in addition to his so-called parents looking the other way, he quickly learned his place. Sehun had a tough time at first but his early years taught him to keep it all to himself and it worked. Eventually, his siblings got tired of his unresponsive behavior and let him be, most of the time. He was intelligent and calm, so he knew exactly how to survive under these circumstances. These memories left a bigger impact then he would like to admit, but only on rare melancholy days would he ever think about it.

As a grown adult, Sehun has a friendly and kind exterior, especially with patients but often seems distant because he is a reserved and private person by nature. Trust doesn't come easily to him but when he does trust a person, he is fiercely loyal and protective. Sometimes, even then, he finds it tough to share, so don't be surprised. He isn't easily provoked but can come across as arrogant with his brutal honesty and straight face. It is only when his heat comes around or is really pissed off that his temper can get out of hand and instead of arguing, his fists go flying. Otherwise, he avoids conflict and leaves the room or exits a conversation rudely, if necessary. After all of his years of medical school and his time spent as a surgeon, he became disciplined with his schedule and habits, especially when it comes to drinking.
