He remembered most of his childhood days spent in the alleys either fighting for food or begging for it. The sky always looked grey but it never rains, and whenever such a weather comes, it means he and the other kids have to go look for food. Eyes staring at them with gaze that filled with discrimination and disgust, he never raised his head to look at them. When a few old ladies spared them with clean, untouched food, it was the time where blood is involved, either he was fast enough to punch the kids first or he got beat up on the ground instead. The fight for food among kids had been ugly and it was not a play.

Few years on the street had harvested his quiet yet thoughtful personality. He became sensitive to things and could easily sense something's up within gestures, a few seconds or silence, or by instinct. His childish yet growing looks also attracted more eyes to him, but filled with admiration and compliments. One day out in the street alone, a friendly-looking couple stopped him with a smile, and asked something along the lines like 'do you want to be our son?' and after that, he started to live in a house, warm and cozy, with freshly cooked food, served to him while it's still warm. He started getting new clothes, and even had the chance to go to school. The couple's family name was Yoon, and he was given a name: Jeonghan. Life miraculously gotten better for him, he grew up healthily and was a top student in class, eventually gotten into the police force because of the world he wanted to make better.

But if things were that easy, Jeonghan might not have changed at all. When the Yoon couple found their long lost son, everything went back to hell for him. With wide smiles on their face when they found their biological son, Jeonghan knew he was a replacement after all. But years had passed and he already started working, Jeonghan knew even when the parents said nothing, he already had no spot in their mind. So he asked for some money and moved out, but things became dramatically worst after the whole adoption dream. Things never changed outside, he just lived in a sugar-wrapped dream for a long time. One time when he went to the bar, he started to get involved with the city's underground Yakuza and providing them information exclusively in the police force for money.
