the youngest, she was.

yet, jiwoo couldn't decide if it was more of a blessing or a curse. after all, not everything in her family was as picture perfect as it seemed to the eyes of many.

♔ the beginning

jiwoo was born on a cold autumn night. her parents had expcted a baby boy and although, both were said to have been disappointed that they were not granted such, still grew to love her with each passing day. after all, the princess, as an infant, was rather quiet, easily pacified by storytelling and lullabies. hence, the name that was given her - which, in aerokian dialect meant "to give happiness" - was deemed to befit the baby girl who, even then, was blessed with the power to bring smiles to many.

thus, it would seem that she was a favored child. not in the way her brother wonwoo was favored, no. jiwoo, simply put, was pampered. her every wish and every whim was easily granted not only by her parents but also by her siblings. seeing her smile so beautifully apparently brought joy in their home.

and that was how the princess knew that the only things she wanted in life were peace and happiness in her family.

however, she was too young to realize that not all that glitters is gold - and not everyone who is happy would remain smiling forever.

♔ the interim

her household life began to dull when her siblings slowly approached the age of puberty.

jiwoo merely watched as, one by one, her older siblings were sent off abroad or to boarding school, leaving her and the youngest males in the comforts of their home. still, it seemed that the boys were also unable to escape their parents' strict way of upbringing.

she watched as wonwoo was slowly engulfed by the title given to him by their parents, one that should have been given to joohyun or hongseok by birthright. however, it seemed that her brother's gift and natural charm has bewitched them into placing him on the pedestal, and pressing unto him such immense pressure at a young age. as a result, he became quite subdued, and jiwoo watched as he slowly lost grasp of who he should really be -- rather than, who our parents wanted him to be.

jungkook, on the other hand, was a different case. the princess watched her parents deem him a problematic child of their household, being one who thrived in the arts rather than his actual studies. frankly, jiwoo saw nothing wrong of it but their mother had insisted otherwise. as a result, jungkook rebelled more, putting a strain on his relationship with their parents.

sadly, jiwoo could only watch them crumble, helping them in any way she can. for jungkook, she oftentimes covered for him when faced with their mother; her sweet words obviously being considered more over his brash ones. for wonwoo, she treats him as humanely as possible, reminding him that he's his own person more than anything else as much as he can. even in childhood, she clung to them like how a baby longs for their mother, but, instead, it's her who aids to ground them into sanity.

the princess paved through the rest of her years with the confidence of her remaining siblings by her side and even as they fall into a rhythm of constant teasing, she knew that they're as comforted by each other's presence as she was.

♔ the present years

after leaving university, jiwoo fell into a life of constancy.

the night of the annual royal ball has changed her life, however, and currently, she's married to the boy of her dreams with twins and a little one on the way. along with promises of having a happy family with him, jiwoo vows to make him the happiest boy while he lives.

but even then, she's not forgotten who she is -- a princess of baekje, a daughter of the house of the wise -- and jiwoo's decided to pro-actively participate in their house's affairs since their declaration to take the throne.

placed under private tutoring with the youngest prince from the neighboring kingdom of gaya. she and prince changmin hit it off quite well. in the same year, jiwoo's had her first crush in the form of prince jaemin of silla. this lasted for awhile (7 years), until both of them reached the pubertal age.

joohyun, her eldest sister, got sent abroad to further her studies. jiwoo's household life began to dim as her siblings slowly find a path of their own.

dami, the second princess, got sent to boarding school for "misbehaving." frankly, jiwoo thought none of it at first but seeing the distress in her eyes when she left has her second guessing her feelings regarding the matter.

it was prince hongseok, this time, who got sent abroad for school. jiwoo's bond with the youngest brothers become stronger, making her more attached to them than anyone else.

hongseok's involvement in an accident shakes jiwoo to the core albeit not being so obvious about it. she promises to keep her siblings in check occasionally from then on. at the same year, she leaves home tutoring to pursue a degree in the same university where her brother, prince wonwoo, works at.

attends the annual royal ball once again and sees prince giwook for the first time. for some odd reason, jiwoo's immediately smitten and hasn't stopped thinking about him ever since.
 

graduates with a bachelor of arts degree, major in linguistics and minor in literature. she's spent the entire year doing whatever it is that she's liked to do, however, and along the way, has built connections with a silla royal, an advisor, and a few other people.

the current year in gilded time.

giwook, children (hers especially), family, motherhood, silence, books (poem anthologies msotly),  nature, learning new things, coffee and hot choco, pastries (or bread in general), fruits especially mangoes and peaches

anyone messing with her family and friends, traitors and liars, non-hypoallergenic things (she's allergic to alot of things; has allergic rhinitis)

writing poems, listening to music, cooking, baking, spending time with her children and giwook, flower arrangement -- being a mother basically

primary goal is to see giwook grow old with her and attain the family of 7 that they wish for; other goals are to see her siblings grow older with lovers of their own, to publish an anthology of poems or series, and for baekje to take the throne to change the course of history

jiwoo and siwan are my plot relevant characters who have a definite character growth plotted for them (though still depending on gilded's main plot), which means my main priorities are my threads involving them. however, i still have another chara, lee dohyun, who's basically my break from all these development things. if you want to plot out connections with all of my charas and/or want to do threads with them, just hit up the specific chara in pms and i'll get to you!!
