Growing up as a human in the streets of Sigil, meant you were at the bottom of the food chain, it was eat or be eaten, and as much as Mello wanted to be normal he never was normal. His father was a good man, he worked hard to put food on the table, his mother too and his sister was always dreaming of being a model, or someone in the lime light in order to be someone, but he knew Sigil was a sea of blood thirsty sharks.

As of now his parents are still alive and so is his sister, but he now has no real means of contact with them due to his new,job, and to them he is dead because he faked his death soon after his accident (talked about below) his family is unknowingly under the protection of The Golden Dragons and Soohyuk knows of his situation.

At the age of 18 Mello was on his way back to his apartment,  at the time he was going to school to be a technology Engineer and business manager,  he had finally moved away from his parents and sent them money from his side job of stripping and making his own clothing. One night he was walking back to his apartment,  and it was another normal night, he figured he would go get dinner, smoke some weed and drink, call his little sister... but as he neared the platform onto the skytrain he was forcefully shoved into the rails, and than the person who grabbed him was physically stronger, before he knew what was happening he found himself , and beaten so badly because he tried to fight back, and the only thing he could Make out before everything went black was a Cobra Tattoo...

 

He had broken ribs, broken left arm and shoulder, his right side of his face was bruised and bloodied, and he had no recollection of who he was, except for the Student ID he had on saying his name was Mello – 

He suffered severe amnesia and whoever had beaten him had ran over his chest and he should have died, but as luck would have it, the very thing he was working toward was to be his salvation, and a good friend of his who was part of the Golden Dragons had come to his rescue and so he had reconstructive surgery,  and robotic enhancement done with the best material they had, and that included some experimental enhancement to his chest, creating a heart chamber within him and placing another human heart inside it once a years. His entire left side and shoulder and arm was embedded with metallic alloy and he would make his arm and hand form from a human hand into a knife. And than he could have inhuman strength in that side of his body.  His body was naturally flexible, and slender which made him out to be harmless at first glance. But do be careful and be cautious around him...you might lose something valuable to you. 

The fact that he had developed a multiple personality shift disorder from the trauma had made him a little insane, but his brain had also sheltered his trauma by pushing out a tougher personality after the accident friend had offered him the contract of a life time after he recovered and that was to join the Golden Dragons, and due to his management skills he was placed as the boss to the "Muscle" and his technological experience had also brought him a opportunity to be the tester of the latest weaponry modification when available,  so he gets upgrades every so often. Not to say he does not suffer from his amnesia,  he does not remember his past, all his childhood ambitions and dreams no longer exist, he has the needed brain complexity to still be considered human, like emotions, anger and happiness mostly, but like a light switch his brain can glitch on him and he goes a little manic. Especially if he is being made a fool of by any subordinates, in which case he would probably kill instantly, unless the boss /Soohyuk or Mr. B. Say otherwise not too. He like an android gets his objective and than Carrie's out the deed. Yet on the other hand he still gets a sting of what makes a human human... and that's where his personality comes from. He takes a,liking to his boss and only wants to please them, to be of use, if he ever finds that he is useless he gets a tad suicidal and wants to die. So like a human he feels and like an android he can shut down and or take orders and get the job done at any cost. 

Mello is a complicated being, and yet he can be simply pleased in an instant. He works under the Golden Dragons, but like a human he can at times be bought. He doesn't care for intimacy really ever since that over all trauma of being by a group of Phantom Cobras, but he sees any type of ual relation as pure work, and he gets a adrenaline from feeling y and powerful so he has always taken a liking to stripping for side money. Mr. B. Used to call him his favorite pet before he worked his way from being a stripper/pet to a manager of his newest form of happiness which is "leader of the pawns". He is still considered a highly valuable member in his own.
