Hanbin was the son of a policeman who, for money, decided he could bend the rules and get involved with the yakuza. He ended up getting so deep into it that he had no way out. The police were on his , trying to find out who was selling information to the yakuza, and of course, he was not the only one, but he was the most careless on his actions. He had left a lot of clues that lead to him. Now it was a matter of time before either he got caught by the police, or the yakuza got rid of him before the police could get to him and possibly make him talk.
it wasn't long before his father disappeared. to this day hanbin has no idea what happened. he left one morning and never came back. either the coward ran away, or committed suicide, or if he wasn't that lucky, he got caught. hanbin wasn't sure which option would be best? to get caught and killed by the yakuza? or to be held taken somewhere far and hidden and held hostage by the police?
After his father disappeared from his life, Hanbin decided this life was not for him. He wanted nothing to do with the policemen or the yakuza. He wanted to live as relaxed as possible, by his own rules. The police forces were corrupted and worked under an unfair system. The yakuza were ruled under one person, nearly like a dictatorship in Hanbin's eyes, or even when they did have a bit more freedom they still had to follow a lot of rules and guidelines. Hanbin followed no law but his own, and as such, he was not getting involved in any of it. He would owe loyalty to no one but himself. he didn't care about his father's background, or what happened to him. He just wanted to be free... or so he said. but in reality, hanbin was doing his own personal investigation. secretly. with only a couple trustworthy sources to help him. he would find out what happened that day.
hanbin ended up opening up a bar of his own in the city and made sure to keep his identity hidden. no one knew he was the owner and so he 'hired' himself as a barman as a way to keep an eye on the night life. with the right type of conversation, the right type of atmosphere, he was sure he'd get some clues out of the drunk visitors as well as those trying to spread their business under his roof.

hanbin enjoys being alone. not because he's an introvert and can't socialize well, and not because he dislikes people. it is simply easier. and hanbin is a simple person.
but like everyone else of course he also enjoys having some people to hang out with from time to time. thankfully, throughout the years, hanbin managed to find some friends who shared his ideology and life values. people who could understand him and didn't put pressure on him. the group consisted of people from different backgrounds, but they all respected each others limits. some of them liked to share more about their lifves because they liked being able to share that with someone and knew the group could be trusted and no one would say a thing. others liked to keep the secret and would rather not share much about what they did for a living, and the others respect that. their dynamics and trust gave them room so that none got the others dragged into their problems or life. they all knew to leave everything else aside when they met up. it was their own way to escape for a short while.
