Personality
Koichi is selfish coward, crippled by his neurotic anxiety. His aunt's abuse left him with a severe trauma related to women. Every minute of every day he feels like someone is going to show up and make him go back to his family, and the panic almost drives him insane. He turns to drugs, alcohol and to calm himself.
Then there is his relationship with his brother. Koichi likes to tell himself that he ran from his family to save his brother, that he keeps struggling every day for his brother, that he loves him and would do anything for him. It isn't a complete lie, but he can't love Meto no matter how hard he tries. When Meto first stood up for him as a child and as a result was abused by their uncle, the poisonous guilt consuming him began. You see, Koichi couldn't risk himself for Meto. He tells himself he couldn't have done anything anyway, and he probably couldn't have... but unlike Meto, Koichi didn't even try. He was a coward.
To make himself feel better, he puts on a show of unconditional love, almost subordination, for his brother. His 'self-sacrifice' makes him feel better about his guilt. On occasion he is so convincing he himself can't even tell it's just an act. Then the exhaustion kicks in, Meto's need for him threatening to suffocate him.
The exhaustion drives him to flee the mansion, sometimes for days at a time. Eventually, the guilt returns and takes charge, he returns to his brother's side and it all starts over again. Being the coward that he is, he can't take that final step and leave Meto for good. He wants to, though.

ABOUT
His parents ran the drug, and human trafficking ring of the ghoul kingdom, bringing in slaves from all the kingdoms and selling their own to the highest bidder. After the not surprising but unfortunate early death of his parents, he and his twin brother Meto were taken into the care of their aunt and uncle. It started with Koichi. He was too young when his aunt first 'invited' him to her secret room. His twin, the darling, found out and tried to protect him... but that just made things worse. Meto caught their uncle's eye and soon both the twins had their own personal real-life nightmares.
Years and years of abuse were suffered and somehow survived, and then finally Koichi managed to convince the clan to send them, the twins, to the Central Plains... to build their family empire there. It was the only way to escape. Even their aunt and uncle couldn't stop them from leaving, if the council agreed. They did. Koichi grabbed his poor, broken twin and they fled the same day. Now Koichi's fight continues here. He has to do a good job, or they will be called back. He has to. He can't let Meto go back there. It's all his fault after all. If only he hadn't involved sweet, innocent Meto in the mess he was too weak to endure. It's all his fault. Everything.
Koichi bares the physical and emotional scars from life with his 'family'. Angry scars dig into his pale skin, reminding him every day what a failure he is. Underneath the curtain of pink hair covering the right side of his face is a large, angry burn mark that stretches over most of the right side of his body. Now he spends his days running, well, pretending to run, a human trafficking ring, and drowning himself in anything that can distract him.
His strongest power is his healing ability, yet he can't heal his own wounds or scars. His power stems from sacrificing his own life force.
