The mobile speed camera hits a record figure before the eyes of an officer in training. The banalized patrol car nearly vibrates from the high speed reached downtown. The officer next to the trainee grins. "Lee ing Taeyong, racing a poppy red V40 in broad daylight, just for the picking. We are in for a morning treat!" Follows a call out to all units on the street so as to use all means necessary to block and arrest the famous illegal street racer. The trainee not only buckles up but he also grips onto his belt like a lifeline, having heard the name one too many times of an underground driver, causing all sorts of nuisance and a major frustration within the police forces. The police officer in charge, next to the trainee, joins in the madness almost gleefully, chasing the racer in parallel streets, dangerous turns and red light passes on the pretense of having beacons and sirens blazing through the traffic. Officers trained to apprehend the new Cancer of the city are many, but the pursuit is failed attempts after failed attempts of various road blocks, path simulations and traffic disrupting that hinders all efforts of the police, several minutes into the chase. About ten minutes into the crazy ride and a couple cars of the force are done for, no civilians harmed -yet- but every turn brings the probabilities closer to casualties in collateral damage. 'It seems the car is engaging in the perimeter of the Silla Hospital-' the radio updates, and follows a long silence during which the trainee sees anger in the way the police officer hits the wheel, as if he knew he would be losing. The message is repeated and confirmed by several patrols along with the end of the crazy race in the emergency access of the Hospital. The trainee remains silent, doe eyes staring at the red Volvo parked ahead, curious as to why the race would end there and why the police officers would be disappointed. "Not in a million years." the officer spits, tires screeching upon arrival in a drift that immobilizes the patrol car centimeters away from the driver of the red Volvo. The trainee sees his whole life before his eyes at the manoeuvre but the fear dissipates at the sight of the man he supposes is Lee Taeyong. He is an oddly familiar guy next door, wearing a fluffy white top, ripped blue jeans, big eyes gazing in Oscar-worth innocence. He is Bambi in the headlights, he is the hot guy you see at the lavomatic once and never forget in your whole life but for this trainee, Lee Taeyong literally is the guy living next door. A nervous laugh is barely muffled at the theatrical silence when all officers are out, guns out too. He stayed back, highly disturbed by the secret life of a quiet goody two-shoe, held at gunpoint by a dozen officers. Contradicting orders follow for the man caught red-handed to: rest the bag he is holding on the ground slowly, put his hands where everyone can see and turn around to rest both hands on the car. Taeyong doesn't seem to mind, ignoring those and the guns held a little too close for him to feel safe, eyes focused on the approaching doctors. White blouses join the midst, fearless of the guns as if those were water guns and tension to retrieve the bag Taeyong carries. It is swift and time remains suspended for anyone but the Silla hospital staff. They leave except for one of them who eyes Taeyong then the cops. "We gave him the red beacon for express organ and blood deliveries but I guess he likes the reflection of your blue beacons on his car?" The Doctor chuckles and pats Taeyong's shoulder, ignoring his raised hands. "Good job today, but make sure you stay in good terms with the local police to help us save lives, will you?" Taeyong's smile makes some police officers nearly hiss, but to the trainee, his smile is the same he flashes when their mail gets mixed up and one knocks on the other's door. It is one of the sweetest smiles, but that does not spare him a fair fine for not using his medical emergency beacon.
