Born and raised in Shanghai, China, Daimeng grew up in a relatively average household, both her parents being simple office workers, trying their best to offer their daughter a good childhood.
Fairly early on in her life, she already knew that she wanted to work in the entertainment industry, auditioning mostly for modeling jobs here and there. When the audition to the first generation of the first chinese sister group of the famous akb48 was announced, she didn't hesitate to apply. Although not too confident in her singing, she still managed to get through auditions, making her official debut as Idol on October 14th 2012.
Throughout the years as a member, later also captain of team Sii, of SNH48 there were many ups and downs but with the support of her fans each year she climbed up the ranks higher and higher, becoming one of the most well known members in the large group of girls.
By the end of her 8 years contract, although dedicating her youth and best years to her group, Daimeng made the decision to leave the company and go independent.
Through earlier promotions with her subunit in different countries she had slowly built up her connections throughout the asian music market. Thus when receiving news of a new entertainment company being in the builds with none other than the infamous kwon boa as ceo, she offered the older woman to team up for the task, promising that her knowledge in the chinese music industry would become useful the moment they decide to expand their business to china.
