he likes hanging around people who are similar to him and with similar tastes as it tends to avoid problems from arising. he's mostly an introvert at first, quiet and observing, but will open up if he feels comfortable. aside from music, he also has a passion for photography so that would be his side hobby whenever he is not in the studio or at home composing. do expect to find him snapping some shots of you whenever you're hanging out around him.

not wanting to fully rely on his mother, he found himself a part-time job at a coffee shop as a way to help him pay for the rent of his small apartment as well as any other expenses.
he majored in music production and now slowly tries to work his way up into the music industry. through the years he lived in the city, he ended up getting very attached to the rap scene in Seoul. he'd stay out late at night just to watch some of the street shows and performances and thanks to that ended up making some friends around the scene as well. that's when he decided that's what he wanted to make his life about. he wanted to focus mostly on his rap and composition skills. after some practice and getting a hold of his own confidence, he decided to give a rap survival show a try and auditioned for show me the money. if he had to admit, his performances on the show included some of his proudest moments as well as some of his worst, and for a while, he struggled with his nervousness whenever he had to perform, but to get himself back into the scene and used to the spotlight, he started participating in street rap battles along with some of his friends and rappers he admired.
the whole smtm situation came to show him that, rather than wanting to just be acknowledged as a talented rapper, his greatest aspiration was to share his talent with the world and be able to relay his emotions to others through his music. and for that, the idol career seemed ideal. while continuing his studies, he secretly applied to some companies, getting rejected multiple times for being 'a great rapper but lacking dance skills or looks'. determined to making it, he used some of the money from his part-time job to take some dance lessons on the weekends and working hard to get better.
not being someone who highly invests in love, he only had one relationship, which lasted throughout high school and into his first couple of years in college. after their nasty break up he stopped searching for someone to be with and instead focused all his energy on writing his music and translating all of his heartbreak into his songs. this seemed to work out in his favor, as after auditioning to one more entertainment company, this time with his self-written rap on his own self-produced beat, he was finally picked up as a trainee, for once not getting held back for lacking in some other category. he would finally get his chance to seriously work for his dream.

being someone who focuses a lot on his career, hanbin tends to avoid any possible romance.
but when it comes to a lover, he does not ask for much. all he needs is someone who is easy to talk to, and someone he can be comfortable around.
