when yejun was born, it was said to be one of the most beautiful days of the year. people had said that the sun shone in particular for the eleventh prince, whose mere presence seemed to make the flowers bloom. he was the pride and joy of the wang family, seen as a gem amongst them.
the boy was coddled growing up, always given whatever he needed whenever he wanted it, and the boy was never without. while most children would grow spoiled and bratty from such treatment, yejun instead was greatful for the love and kindess given to him, and always made sure to give it back.
when the freckles began to dot his cheeks, the kingdom of guri whispered of the sun coming down to kiss his cheeks herself, and every laugh that left his lips was said to be the creation of a fairy. guri adored him.
yejun was soon to be the center of attention in the kingdom, quite literally living up to his name.
guri's sunshine.
yejun was said to strike the hearts of everyone in the kingdom, between his charming smiles and the pride in the way he drew his bow. the prince almost immediately showed his skills in archery, and the kingdom once again began whispering. he showed just as much talent as jumong, and everyone wondered if he would be the man's equivalent in this day and age.
it was an expectation for yejun, and so with the king's encouragement, he began focusing on honing those archery skills. after all, he hailed from the kingdom of military power. he should represent his kingdom well. despite being so young, yejun soon became one of the most skilled archers in the kingdom, outranking even the men who protected the kingdom themselves. he was, in short, a prodigy.
and he had to live as guri's treasure for the rest of his life.
