chapter one.

as the last breeze of spring blew across the country, the first and only daughter of the shin family was born in the warm arms of the doctors and nurses who had been working over the night for mrs. shin who had difficulty in her labor. the man looked at his wife, holding her hand while he promised her to compensate her with everything she wanted because of her hard work in giving them a precious daughter. the baby was soon named as ryujin. grown up with the love from other people, ryujin is like the daughter of the god for she is smart in her studies but also excel in almost everything she learns. but only her butler knows how lonely the girl is to grow up without a mother and a busy father. months after her birth, her mom died due to an infection caused by the wound not treated properly by the hospital, and her dad who loved her mom so much started to become busy, endless business trips to different countries, rarely spending time with his daughter, perhaps fear that everytime he saw her it would remind her of his dead wife. the girl's birthday, new years, Christmas, he was never there for her, and the girl grew up with a butler who was the closest motherly figure for her. but despite such an imperfect family background, ryujin never looked like the stereotypical fragile human being, instead she was cheerful and optimistic, way too much that some people came to the conclusion it was all her acting. the girl never showed vulnerability, her participation in sports blew up her popularity in school as she showed incredible talents in it, being one of the rare all-rounders among the circle. and it was at this time her dad came back to korea once again, but this time he is finally settling down and not going anywhere ever again. just when ryujin thought her father is trying to make up for old times, it was only to be found out that her dad wanted her to inherit their family business. this time, the girl totally exploded in front of her father, listing down how he was not fitting as a father, having her suffering pains like an orphan even when she was living in a single parented, wealthy family. she had seen people form the lower cliques, even though they are different from her, they had loving parents and given her warmth that she had never felt from the father. all of a sudden the house's diving secrets under its glorious facade all being dug out, and ryujin left the house without turning back.
