background

warning: glossed over child abuse to get one thing straight: wonpil was born a human, but he didn't stay that way. he wasn't born into a wealthy family, nor was he inherently special; he was just wonpil, a sweet kid with a bright smile that disappeared whenever he went home. it wasn't a happy family, and his parents weren't nice people.  but wonpil didn't let other people see that he suffered. he plastered on a brilliant smile, exuded energy, and tried his best to be adorable and sweet and just altogether impossible to see through. 

but one thing led to another and things went too far. he ran into the street to escape his parents in the middle of the night, and was hit by a speeding car. the car was owned by a rich old vampire, who was overwhelmed by guilt when he realized that he'd hit a child. that vampire decided he would take responsibility for the accident, and instead of letting wonpil die, he turned the boy and took him in as one of his children. wonpil's birth parents could have cared less, and so wonpil was settled in to the kim household. 

growing up as a vampire wasn't entirely pleasant to wonpil; his body changed, he grew fangs, he was paler, his features shaped so differently from those of his family (that part wasn't so bad), he thirsted for blood and had to stay in his sire's home with the other fledgelings. he didn't have any biological children, because he never settled down or married, and he was never home; wonpil and the others were left to their studies with tutors and then to their own devices until their sire would return in time for dinner and then retire when the lights of dawn began to delicately wash the sky with changing color and light. 

wonpil grew older and wonpil grew wild, the prim and proper behavior that was expected of him going out the window. he'd slip out of galas with other powerful people's sons and in hotels, allow himself to be picked up by strangers in bars, bleach his hair blonde, indulge himself in crazy things that gave his sire white streaks in his hair. around this time, he developed an alcohol addiction. naturally his behavior became a source of gossip; how could his powerful, successful sire have produced a son like that? of course, then people started saying he just had daddy issues, that he didn't get enough parental attention from his sire. but wonpil's never been one to play the game. 

warning: violence mentions being wild was dangerous. it was only a matter of time before wonpil ran into trouble, and he did. first it was a werewolf who's territory he had entered, leaving him with clawmarks across his ribs but still undead and as wild as ever. then it was a hunter, aiming to get at his sire through him. but wonpil was nothing if not cunning, and it wasn't him who ended up skewered with a stake, though he gained a scar from that encounter as well. 

if anything, it only encouraged him to continue what he was doing, with one exception: he did stop drinking alcohol, clearing his system of one bad habit. his sire tried to bribe him into behaving, with promises of concert halls to play his piano in, blood donors, playmates (as though he was a child?), but none of it appealed to wonpil's desire to seek out his own amusement and cause mischief. 

it's not attention he lacks, snorted one of his sire's friends to another, you never gave him any discipline. 

warning: non-consensual biting while he was still living under his sire's roof wonpil did, however, eventually settle into a rhythm that wasn't quite as... rumor-generating: pretend he was capable of behaving when he was in galas and other public events, then leave with someone and do things more... privately. it meant that the rumors died down somewhat and people were starting to believe that wonpil was settling himself down and becoming proper again. that couldn't be further from the truth, he was just better at doing things out of the public eye and away from the tabloids. he was getting sneakier, just so his sire would stop his constant chiding. 

but one thing led to another and wonpil's habits led to a situation that got out of hand once again, in the form of another vampire who bit him with the intent to leave a scar. his teeth sank in and tore, and it definitely did scar over, leaving a mark on wonpil's neck. 

after that, wonpil decided he'd move out of his sire's home (unrelated, really) and to another city, which was how he ended up here. 

and he started up his wild behavior again.

he sings in a bar for a job. he doesn't need to work, he definitely doesn't need the money, but he likes to do it and so he does it. 

he lives in an expensive apartment that his sire insisted he be allowed to pay for – his condition for letting wonpil leave without an entourage of his sire's assistants to make sure he was behaving himself. 

he prefers b-negative blood, but will drink others if he has to. his second favorite is ab-positive.

he's never been in an exclusive relationship; he's never dated in general. it's not that he's afraid of commitment, he just hasn't met someone that he's that compatible with yet.

he might be a little above average height, but he's really good at seeming shorter than he is when he wants to. and on the flipside, he's good at appearing larger too. 

he's not afraid of physical confrontations. call him reckless, but he's got no fear. 

he still goes to fancy gatherings when his father asks (tells) him to make an appearance. 

contrary to how most people think of him when they hear rumors, no, he doesn't flirt and try to seduce incessantly. he does act normal sometimes.

you're one of wonpil's "father's" (sire's) most trusted assistants. it's you who he sends to the city to handle his mess of a boy, an adult who indulges in far too many men far too publicly. it's embarrassing, and his sire wants it handled.

so here you are, trying to play babysitter, but wonpil refuses to change his behavior.

daddy dearest can't send you to clean up his mess, he says every time you try to argue with him about it.

and that's always the end of it. 

persistence is key - taken

you're the child of an influential, rich family, so of course you've met wonpil before. he's always been a wild thing, fluttering lashes and roaming eyes, thriving off of what he can wring from other men. for as long as you can remember, he's been this way. 

he's never set his sites on you, though. 

this is new, wonpil in your space, so intent on seducing you away from the gathering of rich people that your parents have always forced you to at least show your face at.

even though you and wonpil have only known each other for about two years, you both consider each other the best friend either one of you will ever have. there's a bond between you that formed over such a short period of time after your first meeting, and you've been linked at the hip ever since. you're the only person who can truly tame the wild behavior, by dragging wonpil out of parties or being what he might describe as a , but at the end of the day, you and wonpil love each other and are the best of friends. wonpil opens up to you about things he doesn't tell anyone.
