❝
A quiet, simple, withdrawn soul, Junseo has always found little reason to complain — even as a child, he would offer no tears when his parents hit him, or when another child stole his toys. No, Junseo had always been solitary, finding books to be a more enjoyable endeavour than making friends his own age. Books wouldn't cry or whine when he looked at them with such an impassive, unfeeling stare — and so, Junseo often found himself in the company of the library, even when his parents insisted he take sports or go outside. He was their only son, you see — and the Lee's wanted to rise up the ranks of society, making their already well-established name even bigger than it already was. They wanted to be on par with the other Lee family that had grown to become a multi-million dollar enterprise, and with a withdrawn, complacent child — how could they do that?
Still, Junseo could not change his ways so easily. Even in high school, when he was ordered around and picked on by his peers, he had no complaints, only did what he was told. The fact that he never reacted made him less of a target, anyway.
It was when university approached that he was given a choice by his parents — take a business degree, or face punishment. Junseo had known since day one that he wanted to be a teacher, so his choice was easy — face punishment. He was forced to leave his childhood home, working part time jobs to sustain himself. Junseo was lucky he had been such a studious child — if not for his scholarship, he surely would have struggled to get by.
As his story is largely uneventful, Junseo had thought his university life would be just as plain, just as simple. But to his surprise, he came across one of his high school bullies — Hwa Miyoung. Something in their relationship had changed, and before Junseo knew it — she was pregnant.
Miyoung didn't want to keep the baby, her first option being to have the child adopted — but Junseo was quick to volunteer himself. How he would do it, he had no idea. After all, he was a poor college student on a scholarship, with no support from his parents.
The minute his parents found out about their grandchild to be, they were ecstatic. Immediately, they took him back into their home, and despite Junseo's aversion to the idea of being reliant on them, this child needed a stable, loving home. Even if the baby wasn't going to have a proper mother, that just meant Junseo needed to love the child twice as much.
And so, Lee Jihye was born, a rambunctious bundle of giggles and laughter that tugged at Junseo's heartstrings.
He worked hard to provide for both himself and his daughter — after all, he couldn't rely on his parents forever, and he didn't want to. Six years passed by in a blur of messy braids, an overflow of pink toys, and the accompanying laughter to his daughter's smile — and before he knew it, Junseo secured himself three teaching jobs, and a large apartment unit for Jihye and himself in one of the finest apartment complexes Korea had to offer (with his parent's help, still).
Today, Junseo is a dutiful, caring father that spoils little Jihye to no end, and although he'd never been greedy in his own childhood, all he wants is the best for his young daughter. Lee Junseo would do anything and everything for the happiness of his pride and joy.

personality
Silent and withdrawn, Junseo keeps mostly to himself, only ever interacting with others when Jihye is involved. Around her, his largely impassive gaze turns into a fond, genuine smile. Father and daughter are entirely different, what with Jihye and her tendency to run around the apartment like a maniac, but he wouldn't trade any of it for the world.
likes
Lee Jihye, books, coffee, rain, cooking, baking, nature, tea, honest and diligent students, writing academic papers, brain teasers, cold weather, comfortable silence, open air spaces, exploring with Jihye, cartoons and kids' movies, basically anything Jihye likes. He's not a very picky person, and it doesn't quite show on his face when he likes or dislikes something.
dislikes
Hot weather, noisy people, crowded rooms, pretentious people, stuck up rich people, reptiles, texting, being touched without permission, sad movies (he cried during Up and Toy Story 3), banana pancakes (just don't tell Jihye, she loves making them for him). Again, he's not a very picky person, and it's not obvious when he does dislike something or someone.
goals
To become a teacher that students can look up to and trust, especially those that are being bullied; To give Jihye the best life that he can, showing her twice the love and affection since she doesn't have a present mother figure in her life (Miyoung goes to see her sometimes, but Jihye is unaware that she's her mother).
facts
Junseo was both Rahee and Jihyun's professor in university. He was closer to Rahee, since she reminded him of how he used to be in the past, and so, he did his best to help her through her student life, as an informal guidance counselor of sorts. He's spoken to Jihyun about her behavior towards Rahee from time to time.

hello, this is gao, and this is my soft chara junseo ! i'm the easiest to reach on discord, so if you wanna plot with me, hit me up there because i take forever to respond on rpr pms. you can still pm me here though, if you want!02
basically anything goes, but the genres i gravitate more to lean towards the angst scale, if you don't already know that by now. i am also a good er for romance plots, but it needs to be plotted out somewhat. i'm not a fan of winging big plots for our characters, though i can wing threads.03
reply speed go brrr. kinda busy these days working on thesis and finding employment, so don't be surprised if i take forever to reply. also, don't poke me unless it's been like, a month or something. i really don't do well with being poked, and will likely stop replying if it's any sooner than a month.04
reply length... oh boye. i'm a phat 500% mirrorer, so it's generally up to you. it's likely that my default would be 2 paras, but i can definitely do novella (especially if i have lots of muse for the thread).05
make sure to get admin permission before plotting something heavy with me (e.g. chara death, npc stuff, whatever rlly). generally i don't have a lot of rules and i like to think i'm pretty chill so just be a decent person and i will show u the same kindness ^__^
