In Roman mythology, Somnus ("sleep") is the personification of sleep. His Greek counterpart is Hypnos. Somnus resided in the underworld. According to Virgil, Somnus was the brother of Death (Mors),and according to Ovid, Somnus had a 'thousand' sons, the Somnia ('dream shapes'), who appear in dreams 'mimicking many forms'. Ovid named three of the sons of Somnus: Morpheus, who appears in human guise, Icelos / Phobetor, who appears as beasts, and Phantasos, who appears as inanimate objects.

The best way to describe Somnus is that he's an old man in a young man's body. When he isn't in class or working, Somnus can be seen sleeping anywhere or cooking at his dorm; He could just sleep anywhere, it doesn't matter if it's raining or if it's snowing, he will sleep in any weather or condition. What's there to say about the God of sleep? There isn't much to say besides that he mainly keeps to himself, he barely has any friends, and he's quite blunt. Somnus isn't a bad person nor is he a good person, he's just a man that wants to sleep and eat.
