Life for Hiro was never easy. In fact, he didn't even know his name until he started school. at home, it was always "boy", though, even then the crime rate in Verona was so high that schools didn't care that a 5 year old was barely in school or didn't know his own name. This was the life he lived, sneaking out of the apartment to attend school and steal food, come home and take care of his baby sister, get his beat for sneaking out and a plethora of random things that didn't warrant discipline. It wasn't until Hiro was 12 that he had finally had enough. In the dark of the night, he kissed his sister on the forehead, a whispered promise to return for her when he had enough money, grabbed a hidden backpack that he had been slowly and discreetly packing things in and fled.

he had no idea where he was going to go, he was only 12 and didn't have a lot of money. So he simply decided to hitchhike his way as far from his family as he could get. What he didn't expect, was to be taken in by a seemingly welcoming older gentleman. He gave him a place to sleep, clothes to wear and food to eat, and in return Hiro would do odd jobs for petty cash. Then after a few weeks, just when he was starting to get used to a routine, things changed.

it started once every couple of weeks, sneaking in the middle of the night when hiro was supposed to be asleep. Then the timing increased and soon it was even during the day, whenever it was demanded. He was forced to wear dresses and grow his hair. He was now Lola, this man's granddaughter coming to visit, at least that's what they told people. The ruse lasted for a while, but as soon as people started to get suspicious, once again hiro was packing a bag and fleeing in the dark of night.

His next stop would land him in Japan, where the true origins of the man he had been working for would be revealed. He was a part of the yakuza, and he now owned Hiro's life. So for years, all Hiro knew was training in the ways of the assassin. and when he wasn't doing that, he was still dressing up for the yakuza for their amusement and pleasure. The only thing that kept him motivated was the fact that he would one day get back to his baby sister and save her from their parents like he had promised her. It would take a lot of stealth and patience, but eventually the perfect opportunity presented itself.

It was supposed to be a simple job, but the man that had taken him in had gotten old, and clumsy. Really, it was an accident. Hiro forgot the knife was in his hand when he went to catch his caretaker as he fell. Fortunately for him, he had been trained well, and he was able to quickly rid himself of the body and any evidence before anyone noticed. Of course, this also meant he could no longer stay in Japan or risk getting exposed. So he grabbed his passport that he had kept hidden and jumped on the first plane back to the united states, back to his hometown of verona city, back to his baby sister.

Except, time waits for no one. And his baby sister was a baby no longer. In fact, if he hadn't known her facial features so well before he left, he would've thought she was a stranger when he walked into their old home. But this was no happy reunion. No, this was a mission. It didn't take long for Hiro to assess the situation. To notice the weapon and blood on his sister's hands or the corpses of his disgusting parents. His only regret was that he wasn't able to kill them himself. Instead, he gathered his shell shocked and shaking sister, and set to cleaning her up and disposing of the evidence. Taking only what was necessary, Hiro ushered his sister out of the apartment, and set the place ablaze. No one would think twice, arson being commonplace in that area.

So now it's just the brother and sister duo. It's been a few years and they're a lot closer now, but there is still a lot of resentment, anger and guilt between them. Hiro will do whatever it takes to make money but above all, he will protect his sister, even if it costs his own life.
