Youngest son of the current Hanjin group chairman, Baekhyun's had it all in life, his entire life. As token precious child and little heir, spoiled rotten, he had grown up used to the instant gratification. He's good looking (the surgeries helped), overflowing with charms, a filial son, an adoring brother, the perfect student, role model, etc. You name it, Baekhyun's probably got it. Trained classically in piano and all sorts of other billionaire kid things, ranging from equestrian riding to golf to politics to literature, Baekhyun is well-versed in many areas. 


With his older brother a successful cardiologist, Baekhyun's parents hoped for Baekhyun to take over the family business one day, despite Baekhyun's insistence since he was young to become a singer. At 13, he was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, a chronic condition that would have to be treated for the rest of his life. Still, he continued to sing whilst being monitored.

With his worsening condition, Baekhyun begrudgingly alternated spending his late teens in university studying business management and learning the ropes with his father at the company. The senior workers at the company were less than thrilled with his presence - after all, they'd dedicated years into the company, yet Baekhyun just waltzed in and was seated on the highest floor on his first day. Baekhyun didn't care for the gossip that surrounded him at work, but it was an excuse to leave. Despite his parents' pleading, he left his home for Seoul after auditioning behind his family's back. They didn't condemn him for it, but they did make sure to always take the opportunity to express their disappointment when Baekhyun visited. 

Still, it didn't matter. Baekhyun didn't join all those choir clubs and acapella groups despite his illness for nothing. He auditioned for DSF when they were still a startup, becoming a part of the first round of trainees the company ever had. Over time, he'd stuck with the company through thick and thin (read: numerous amounts of evaluations and CEO changes), clinging on to his debut like it was the only thing he had left. In a way, it was. He'd thrown away his early twenties to prove his parents wrong, and the years he'd been chipping away at idol life was only confirming his parents' suspicions about how he was getting absolutely nowhere in life It's fine. He couldn't give up now, after he'd invested half his life into quite possibly the dumbest and riskiest career choice on the planet. 

Despite his privileged upbringing, Baekhyun doesn't mention it often, knowing just how differently some people could treat him when they knew he come from money - whether it be with envy or sudden reverence (in hopes of gaining from him), Baekhyun just wants to be known for the person he is. He's loud and boisterous when you first get to know him, and seemingly has no filter of any sort when he speaks casually. He's most comfortable when he's with someone (the more the merrier) and suffers from the highs by crashing low when he's alone. Not too far beneath his happy exterior, Baekhyun is sensitive and hurt easily by the people he holds close to his heart. He enjoys cheering others up with his antics, but after years in the industry, a more cycical side to him developed. He judges, he's pickier with his friends, and has a mean streak when he feels wronged or insulted. However, people who Baekhyun hold dear to, will be blessed with Baekhyun's unwavering loyalty and love.
