Momoko was born and raised in Japan, attending university there to study computer sciences. She did well, managing to write a thesis good enough to get published, and almost immediately after graduating at the age of 22 she received various job offers. The one she accepted was a job in South Korea, and at the age of 22 she moved countries, and then realised she'd made a mistake. She thought she knew enough Korean to get by, but after her first week she realised she knew nowhere near enough.
She started trying to learn more Korean but practically shut down all attempts to make or maintain friendships unless they were conversing in English or japanese. Three years later her Korean is much better but she's still very insecure about it.
