sarcasm is a language idiots don't understand. i don't insult people, don't get me wrong, but if you don't understand that i am insulting you, you are probably an idiot.
people who admit their mistakes, snowy days, vanilla ice cream, his brother, sunflowers, sketching quielty while sitting in the great hall.
people who pity themselves without taking actions to solve their problems, chocolate, snakes, bullies, all-nighters. saying sorry.
sketching, he's always trying new things to find something that excites him, reading science fiction novels and comics.
chewing on his thumbnail when he's nervous, fiddling with the end of his tie as a self-soothing gesture, cutting the crust from his bread, separating his food into categories on his plate, cracking his neck, bouncing his knee in class or drumming the end of his pen against his sketchbook when he's talking
protective, calm, level-headed, resilient,
sarcastic, arrogant, quick to anger, cynical when it comes to his life
emrys doesn't have a goal in life yet, which stresses him a out lot, especially because everybody around him seems to have figured out their lives already, knowing exactly where their paths will lead them. it kind of makes him feel left behind, even by his own twin brother.
marrying out of love was never an option for everett's and emrys' parents. they were both born into pureblooded, old korean families, their suitors already lining up, the list ever growing. and yet they found love in each other, unleashing wrath and scorn on both sides of the family. it lead them to flee the country, hoping for a better life in england. a better life, free of all judgement and all the responsibilities pure blood brought with it, especially for their newborn twin sons. everett and emrys, born only minutes apart, should soon discover that things weren't that easy. and pure blood could rip them apart, sooner or later..
sorted into slytherin, emrys got separated from his twin for the first time ever since they had been born. it came as little to no surprise to their parents, who simply told him that it was his pure blood and determined nature that had sorted him into this house and the hat never made mistakes. well, emrys wasn't so sure about that, but what could he do? he felt out of place with the other slytherins, more so than ever when he started dating a muggle girl from edinburgh one fateful summer that would only further open the invisible chasm between him and his brother. emrys was younger, by only two minutes, but he always acted as if he was the older one, protecting his brother from everything that could ever harm him. maybe, if he was being honest, he should start protecting his twin from himself, as well.
looking back at it, emrys wouldn't be able to say if he was lucky or unlucky to meet clarice that one summer. She was brilliant, funny and - frankly - the prettiest girl in all of edinburgh if one would ask emrys. She was sweet and a lot more patient than he deserved, what with him in boarding school and the turckload of secrets he had to keep from her. Dating a muggle wasn't easy. And not just because he had to keep one of the biggest parts of his life from her. He couldn't tell his fellow slytherins, ever. But he had gotten lucky with that girl, who made sure to bring out his full potential and he quickly left the years of awkward haircuts and acne dimpled cheeks behind. But somehow leaving his awkward teenager self behind also meant falling out of step with everett, the abyss between them only growing wider, deeper and impossibly darker. Perhaps emrys didn't really notice. Not at first, when nothing really changed between them. Their parents still confused their twin son's preferences when it came to food and candy, still bought the wrong books and manga, sending them to the opposite twin. Nothing really changed, right?
breaking up always , but what did emrys know about that? He had never been broken up with and the pain was an unfamiliar one. It didn't hurt as much as he thought it would, but he had seen it coming. But he had been claiming that they were happy for far too long. They had been, right? But clarice was right, somehow. He hadn't even figured out himself, how was he supposed to figure out an entire relationship like this? They were apart for the majority of the year and something was always standing between them. She would never be his first priority, it would always be everett. and it was the first summer in three years, emrys was able to spend as much time with his twin as he could. perhaps a little bit too much, sometimes feeling as if he was smothering his brother with all the affection. but they would be separated again as soon as they returned to school. so why not get as much time in as possible?
to be continued
my wiring style depends heavily on the plot and the amount of time i have for a reply. i swing back and forth between really long posts and shorter ones. if asked to keep my posts shorter, i can try, but i can't promise anything. i don't reply to long posts on mobile, so these take longer for me, unless i'm at home
i can wing plots, especially if they start by simply talking in an ic room. i never plot romance, although i don't have anything against "ex lovers" plots. if we plot together, please put some effort into plotting. it is very tedious for me to come of with a plot on my own, without any input from my partner
my reply speed depends on my muse, my stress level and my schedule. on days where i don't have work (vacation, weekends etc) i will be a lot faster. if you see me hanging out in a chat room, or replying to shorter posts, i am on mobile. so please don't think i forgot about you. i keep a tracker :) please don't poke me after three days. if i haven't replied to you in a week without giving you notice of a reason, you can ask me about it, but please don't pressure me for a reply. as i said, my reply speed depends on my muse, as i don't want to give ty replies, ever. i put a lot of thought into what i write and send back to my partners, but if you ever feel like you can't work with my reply, just let me know. i won't eat you!
