finch's life isn't all that spectacular. born to a muggle-born father and a pure-blood mother. he has two younger brothers and a younger sister, making him the oldest. there's not much that can be said about finch. it's not like he's some protagonist in some movie or a book that goes on wild adventures with his friends. sure, finch loves to have some fun once in a while, but it's nothing compared to what those protagonists experience. he could however say with quite a lot of pride in his body that even though his father wasn't a pure-blood, like his mother or even a half-blood, like finch and his siblings themselves, he did manage to teach finch quite a lot about wizardry. his mother also managed to teach him a lot, but his father taught him things that his mother couldn't. that was also a big reason why finch had so much love for his family. they completed each other and most of all, they completed him.
a few years later when he had grown older and more experienced in his magic, he received a letter to from a school named hogwarts. he had heard about it before from his parents. i mean, of course he has, that's where they met each other and fell in love. upon receiving the letter, he immediately showed it to his parents who exclaimed in glee and encouraged finch to go. he was still somewhat hesitant, though. of course he wanted to go, but at the same time..he had grown so close to his family that he didn't want to leave them either. but with encouragement from his parents and siblings, he started packing his stuff and went off to hogwarts!
finch managed to keep in touch with his family all the time. sure he had studies and all, but he made time for his family as well. a few months later, he suddenly got a call from his mother. he expected to be greeted with the smiling faces of his parents and siblings but not this time. this time it was only his mother. he knew something was wrong, he could somehow..feel it. his suspicion was right, as his mother told him his father had passed away. his father was always ill, but his father's magic, combined with his mother's magic, managed to delay the inevitable for only so long. apparently his time was up now and finch just felt...numb. he didn't get to say goodbye, he didn't even get to be with his dad in his final moments.
finch had half a mind to just go back home and take care of his family, but his mother had to forcefully tell him to stay and complete his studies, to make his father proud. finch understood that, but still..he just wanted to go home, and be with his family. but he knew he had to do this. not only for his father, but also for him. he wanted to make himself proud as well. and so, he stayed at hogwarts, never forgetting about all the time that he spend with his father and all the love the man had for him and for his family.
