Abilities: MOST OF KARINA'S POWERS SIMPLY COME AS ENHANCEMENTS TO THE AVERAGE HUMAN CONDITION, SAVE FOR A FEW.

 

FOR ONE, SHE HAS WHAT IS KNOWN AS "BLOOD SENSE", BEING ABLE TO SENSE THE PRESENCE OF BLOOD IN LIVING BEINGS. OF COURSE IT'S NOT A 'POWER' TO DEDUCE THAT LIVING THINGS HAVE BLOOD WITHIN THEM, BUT IT BECOMES A POWER WHEN YOU CAN SMELL THE BLOODFORCE OF A PERSON BEFORE THEY EVEN WALK INTO THE ROOM. it can be overwhelming at times, but karina has learned to tune it out over the years.

 

her blood sense GOES HAND IN HAND WITH ALL OF HER SUPERNATURAL ENHANCEMENTS. SHE CAN HEAR THE SLICE OF A PAPERCUT; WITH THE TINIEST BIT OF CONcentration, even HEAR THE BLOOD PUMPING THROUGH SOMEONE'S VEINS. she can spot a pearl of sweat rolling down behind someone's ear in a midnight alleyway. her speed, agility, stanima, regeneration, and endurance have all been heightened since her transformation. She shows just enough to be impressive while avoiding questioning.

 

Karina's most useful (as well as most manipulative, and most underdeveloped) talent is her "social magnetism". it was something she initially believed to be the result of enhanced charisma but she has learned that this is an ability she can train all in its own. with enough willpower, she is able to attract or repel others based on her pheremones. you may feel a magnetic pull towards the couch she's sitting on, maybe the unjustifiable urge to approach her in conversation. or, you can feel an off-putting energy radiating from the corner of the room she's standing in. at worst, standing in her general vinicity will cloud you with feelings of doom and danger. the power of her magnetism depends on her current mood as well as her strength at the given time. being naturally disarming & alluring comes with the territory of being a vampire, but it takes a significant amount of energy to do deliberately.

 

karina's easiest power, if you could call it that, is her ability to retract her fangs and her use of venom. her 'biters' as she affectionally refers to them, usually present as eeriely sharp canines. however she can show her true fangs at will and has accidentally done it as a party trick before.

her venom comes in handy once she has already found herself a meal and the feast has commenced. by dispensing venom through her fangs into the bite, she can affect the victim by increasing their bloodflow, relaxing their muscles to avoid a struggle, and maybe even birth a new vampire if she desired.

 

WEAKNESSEs: karina won't burn or glitter in sunlight (the latter is extremely dissapointing to her), but vampire skin is more sensitive so prolonged sun exposure is uncomfortable. luckily, the same is true for most humans so it's an easy one to play off.

 

as for other tropes like garlic & silver, both will yield mild allergic reactions at typical quantities but can be deadly in larger amounts. 

 

although technically possible, it would take an impressive amount of willpower for a vampire to die from starvation. human food is consumable and fun to indulge in, but it offers no real sustenance for vampires. therefore, feedings are neccesary for vitality; especially if your job is training and performing for days on end. Karina becomes extremely lethargic if she forgoes feedings (which happens more than preferred with idol life, between schedules and dispatch and such) and all her abilities will be diminished exponentially as a consequence. the more active she is, the more blood she requires to perform at the pace she likes.

 

the most annoying weakness though, especially for the vain, is the inability to see oneself clearly in a mirror. she /will/ cast a reflection of course, but that myth does have a grain of truth to it. humans see her reflection fine but in karina's eyes, there always seems to be a layer of vaseline blurring her image. she believes god is spiting her, because what other reason is there for her face to be a blurry mirage in a mirror when appearances are half her job.

 

the only other vampiric weaknesses that remain are most fatal to any other species (stake to the heart, burning alive, decapitation, your usual murder methods).
