When Mark was still just a child, he didn't understand much of what was going on. Despite his parents being divorced and his father completely leaving the picture, Mark still spoke about his father as of a hero. He admired him, because others admired him. This multimillionaire enterprise magnate, who always sent him expensive gifts for Christmas and his birthday. Though children are not as nice to other children, and Mark often made fun of because he didn't have a dad. No matter how rich and influential the man was, he wasn't a proper father.

As years passed and Mark's resentment towards his estranged father grew, the boy cut the man completely out of his life. Unsurprisingly, here wasn't much difference between past and present. Mark lived a quiet, average, middle-class life with his single mother, doing everything normal teenagers did. Made mistakes, broke rules, fell in love, broke a heart, had his heart broken, learnt, and grew. Not once did he miss his father. When Mark finished college, he begun working as an electronics salesman to make some money. Everything was fine, until the day his mother got a phone call... Mark would never pick up the 'er' caller ID, but his mother would. The man had an announcement. Suddenly, Mark was an acknowledged son, after many years of no contact, just because the man needed an heir. Of course, Mark refused, so did his mother. But the man was cunning. The house Mark and his mother lived in was his father's. And it became a weapon. The man threatened to take the house back or sell it, giving the pair no other place to live at, unless Mark complied to his request. Mark's biggest weakness is the well-being of his loving mother, and he couldn't have her become homeless.

That's how and why he found himself being enrolled into a prestigious place called Stellavance, leaving his entire life behind. Tbc...
