as a child, wooyoung was that kid who was a leader of a gang of tiny people. he was the one everyone wanted to be friends with. This trope surely followed him throughout his adolescent life, and he earned many good and close friends.
however, as it is typical, with puberty, other interestes started to precede the ones of having the coolest imaginary superpower in the childish play of superheroes. wooyoung felt the pressure of keeping his role in his circle of friends, and felt the need to keep his image cool and always be a step ahead of his peers to be 'interesting'. this way, the previous group of little bandits turned into a teenage group of delinquents. they did not study, they did not listen to adults, and they wanted to grow up fast.
even though it wasn't the best image he could have, he thrived in the attention he was getting from his environment. he was known to be a rebellious boy, who in the eyes of educators had a much higher potential, but in the eyes of his friends and peers, who were far more important than any direct adult role model, had him for a good-looking, cool, fearless and fun guy. wooyoung stuck to the latter for a long time.
he did not care to impress teachers and he did not care to please his parents either. he was enjoying his life in its fullest potential, yet, when the adulthood was about to hit, wooyoung suddenly felt lost.
the most impactful twist in his way of thinking happened after he got kicked down during a football match. his shin got fractured and after the injury healed, it still demanded a month of rehabilitation at best. during this month, he met the person that changed his perception of world completely. his physical therapist. secretly, wooyoung had a crush on the young therapist. despite the therapy being physical, the lady offered him a phsychological therapy as well. she talked a lot about her own life and got wooyung thinking...
what would happen after high school? his friends would disperse, the circle would disband, and what would he have left? his face. his pretty face, which would dissipate with age anyway.
the breaking point happened just before graduation. while participating in underaged drinking with his friends and a casual debate about future after finishing high school, wooyoung was told, jokingly yet somewhat honestly, that he will never be more than what people see. meaning, that without his looks he is nothing.
it dawned on him pretty quickly, that those people he considered friends were only superficial bastards using his charms to get away and gain many things they would probably not be able to achieve normally. to change that, and his own disappointment in himself, wooyoung took the initiative and studied the hardest he has ever studied and graduated with the best score of his class. that enabled him to apply for saebom university's physical therapy program.
currently, he is on the mission to change his and others' perception of himself.
