While not entirely content with the idea that he was less than others because of his eye color and lack of any real power, ungjae made the most of his life, enjoying the fact that it was at least simple.
He grew up and went to school as long as was allowed, and once his education was complete, he went on to work for a local delivery service. run by an emerald who was kind enough to hire sapphires, the thinking being that they'd be best to work since there was a lower chance of mutiny among the lower ranks, ungjae was around others like him and was thankful for the employment. He actually rather enjoyed the work, considering his only other option was to go on and be a servant to someone rich and powerful if he wanted to have a good life. In this way, he was at least earning his lifestyle, even if it wasn't much.
