quirky: there's probably an official definition, but geneva's had it describe her so often, she now associates herself with it.
genny, as she's taken to calling herself amongst the human world, may be two-hundred odd years old in the seelie world where she grew up, but to humans, that's a mere twenty-three years. or she guesses to be around there. the seelie court is a large magical kingdom with portals that stretch across the globe. the one that genny was raised nearest to was the central one to the state of new york, smack dab in the center of grand central park. it's an expansive kingdom full of fae, pixies, elves and everything in between. the rare human, and the odd creature. and below the seelie, there's the unseelie. thousands of years ago, they were enemies. and now they exist under a shaky treaty.
one which geneva has a special link to.
being the only child of a princess seelie and a high-ranking government official father, her birth has been signed in contractual marriage since her existence was known. geneva is contractually betrothed in a treaty marriage with the only son of the unseelie court: ashon.
being a seelie faerie, though, genny was also born with a pension for mischief. pranks, tricks, riddles and everything in between. the more powerful her glamour magic grew, the easier it was. and her lack of decorum and ability to get in trouble at every nook was beginning to rub the family image raw. displeased, and more concerned with their careers and standing in power. with such a crucial time coming with concerns to the renewal of the treaty, her parents couldn't take the risk. and so off she was sent to lunaria, to school, where hopefully she could be whipped into shape.
and of course, there was always a little more when it came to the fae. it was not without intent that the human realm had been chosen. she could have just have been easily been sent to an academy across the seelie realm or even in the unseelie. but the human realm held something that the fae realm didn't. iron.
like any fae, genny's biggest weakness was iron. the metal burns her skin, saps her energy, draws her powers away, and keeps her subdued. subdued. exactly like they want her. with less powers, there's less mischief. less energy, less likely to cause mischief.
which is why she can often be found outdoors. in the gardens, the greenhouse. anywhere but the main buildings. whenever she's inside genny battles a constant sleepiness. she's often called out in class for napping when she should be listening. it's a hard balance, and while it's mostly effective for her parents, it doesn't keep genny from creating chaos in different ways.
geneva peppula is the only child to alessyo (inner court official) and aldena peppulai (second princess). genny is a second generational princess in an arranged engagement to the unseelie prince ashon.
her childhood friend is another seelie fae called benelyn.
she grew up in the main court palace and knows all the nooks and crannies of the place. as well as the names of all the staff, often times having gone undercover in servants' clothing to better blend in to the common areas she normally had no access to.
her favourite place back home is the ancient cherry tree, which blooms with flowers four times the size of a human tree. she likes to tell the tree her secrets
up in the human realm genny is a bit of a ditz. not always intentionally either. everything from cars, to fences, to phones is new to her. while she does her best to retain every bit of information, it's always quick to be replaced with a new one, causing her to ask an almost ridiculous amount of questions.
the cell phone is her favourite discovery in the human world. emojis are an especially fascinating. she still doesn't understand things like social media, except for mystigram which her good friend trent set her up with.
