Description
Born to a family of witches in the countryside of South Korea, Hana has always lived in hiding. Her ancestry faced persecution for centuries due to their “devilish ties” and were they not shunned, they were executed. Over time her family found refuge as farmhands, teaching the next generations magic in secret. While the witch hunts died down along with the population of the prey, Hana’s family only recently came to light once more when her younger brother foolishly burned down the forest bordering their farmland. Targeted and on the run once again, Hana’s family fell victim to the hunt, leaving her as the sole survivor. She left Korea for New York, hearing tales of a city that accepted all kinds, even witches like herself.
as the elder sister of two siblings, hana was raised strictly and underwent disciplined training for her magic. As such, she is independent and competent, holding herself to a high standard and questioning the lack thereof in others. She is ever studious, having only recently graduated as a student and went on to become a teacher also. She does have a soft spot for those younger than her as she views them as similar to her late brother.
hana is similar to that of a black mage, a master at conjuring and manipulating the 6 elements as she pleases. she also has the gift of clairvoyance, allowing her to detect information not already known through conventional means. and while not as spectacular, she can also enchant daily objects to do her bidding while she prioritizes her focus elsewhere.
As a witch, her powers are strengthened if channeled properly through a staff or spell book. her magic is even more powerful with a full incantation. however, because incantations require complete focus and shortened casting means weaker spells, hana is weak to close quarter combat. additionally, she is very susceptible when using her clairvoyance, especially to outside mental influence.
i'm located in California, usa so my timezone is gmt-8. English is my first language but wow am i definitely not good at it. Generally i can write in both 1st and 3rd pov. 1st usually gets quicker and more frequent replies. 3rd is slower but allows for more detail if i have a lot of muse. I'm also 23 years old so i'm able to do mature themes and topics. I do prefer discussing them ahead of time to avoid surprises for all parties involved. There are, of course, always exceptions. Topics that the general public is uncomfortable with is likely what i'm not comfortable with so again, let's discuss them ahead of time or place trigger warnings for consideration of others. Thank you!
