life is weird at best. or worst.

mark tuan has always lived in the shadows, keeping to himself and huddling in corners. it’s better that way anyway as shaped by the iron fists of his parents back home. they were what you would call an average family, living just at the cusp between comfortable and rich.

but mark tuan had always been the black sheep of the family for no reason at all. and among his siblings of three boys with mark being the youngest, it felt as though that his existence was a mistake — a mere product of generational trauma, and in return, received himself to be an outlet for such beatings. once, he’d longed for any traces of parental affection; but it no longer seems to be the case.

after all, he’s been learning to shed what he once was at the academy. he can be obnoxiously funny despite the air of mystery still hanging by; you can’t expect him to just wear off his awkwardness in just a few years especially if the abuse has been inculcated into the very breath of his presence all his life.
