— the bae twins consists of two identical twins born 4 minutes apart from each other: bae jinyoung (eldest) and bae junyoung (youngest). their father, bae hyunsik, was the acting ceo of flow entertainment, one of south korea’s largest and most influential entertainment company. their mother, yang eunji, had been his former secretary prior to their marriage in 1999.

— the twins made their on-screen debut barely a year after their birth, often credited under a single role. they would often make baby cameos in major productions before landing their first major speaking role at age five in the hit television series royal flush. again, this was a singular role and each had to take turns filming in compliance with child labor laws.

— this continued until royal flush wrapped up its final season in 2009. while jinyoung continued to pursue his acting career while the twins were gaining traction from their role in the show, junyoung made the decision to retire early and lead a “normal” life.

— unlike his younger twin, jinyoung had never undergone formal schooling and received most of his education on set through a private tutoring program. he landed his first solo major role in the film that’s too much in 2010, a year after the conclusion of royal flush, which earned him a best new actor award and many other nominations at the end of the year. his career continued to skyrocket as he took on more projects and was continuously on high demand due to his status as an acting prodigy.

— by the time he reaches his early teenage years, jinyoung was already considered one of the most popular teen idols of his time and was as sought in the film industry as a-list celebrities who were twice, thrice his age. it was also around this time where malicious rumours began surrounding him, from industry insiders “exposing” his bad attitude to drug use allegations. all of them, however, have been vehemently denied by flow entertainment. this had little to no effect on his reputation, and at age 16, he was named south korea’s most promising actor with future plans to expand his career abroad, including working on major hollywood productions.

— in 2016, however, his plans came to an abrupt halt when the family announced his younger twin, bae junyoung’s death due to undisclosed circumstances (although there has been speculations on this being caused by a vehicular accident). this was followed up by the agency with a statement that confirmed jinyoung’s temporary hiatus to mourn his brother, and that he would be pulling out of all his projects until he was ready to resume his activities.

— bae jinyoung announced the end of his hiatus after six months. much to people’s surprise, he did not continue his plans to make his hollywood debut as previously intended and chose to take on supporting roles in local film productions. when asked why, he’d always reply that he simply wants to “take it easy” with work while he continues to cope with the tragedy that had befallen their family. at the same time, his past rumours eventually decreased, earning him a more positive reputation despite a slight dip in popularity. still, that doesn’t mean either has completely disappeared.

— jinyoung announced his intention to go into higher education in the 2021 academic year after passing his ged exams the previous year. like many other actors in university, he chose to major in performing arts and specialize in drama and theatre. his reason? it gives him a good balance between living life as a celebrity and a normal young adult—or so he thinks.

preference

i write in detailed 3rd pov only, and will only use action if it's not possible for me to use my preferred style. my length varies from para to novella if i have enough muse + energy, but most of the time i mirror.

i'm open to anything except (implications are ok if needed), but heavy angst and drama tend to fuel my muse the most. that being said, i can also do lighter stuff like fluff and comedy! i'm not a fan of planned romance unless you're someone i regularly write with, but i'm not entirely against it either. as a general advice, please ask if you're unsure about anything!
