Background

•.*★ 2004-2019。Being born to a korean father and a half-japanese, half-american mother all the while being raised in America, Jia grew up with 3 different languages, while being introduced to 3 different cultures. However, since her mother had lived in America for most of her life, she was mostly taught the korean and american costumes; the only thing her mother strictly insisted on was having her learn japanese from a young age, so she could at least keep that as part of her japanese ancestry.

Jia alternated between american and korean schools, making friends from all kinds and exploring every single hobbie she possibly could, the only one truly sticking with her being dance.
After some years of taking multiple dance classes, K-POP became a big thing around  the world and seeing as though she had already been a fan because of her father, she combined two of her big passions and joined a dance cover crew widely known in America.

After 2 years with them, Jia felt in a bit of a slump; of course she was extremely happy doing what she loved, but at the same time she wanted to do more, to know more. With that in mind, she got a couple of part time jobs and with the help of her parents, moved to Korea.

•.*★ 2020。Once there, she auditioned for multiple companies which unfortunately turned her down. Despite being extremely good at dancing, Jia just really couldn't sing and as so no one was willing to work with her. After a year or so of tiring auditions, all the while keeping up with 2 or 3 part time jobs so she could keep her small appartment, Jia officially gave up and just decided to keep doing her covers.

•.*★ 2021。After joining a dance academy, Jia made a lot of friends who fortunately shared the same passion for both dance and K-POP, and as so they got together and decided to form a cover group. After a while, their videos started getting a lot views not only from the korean audience, but also from a lot of people around the world, allowing them to invest in everything they needed to upgrade the quality of their videos.

Present

Jia decided to open a youtube channel of her own to post some vlogs and just her every day doings as she studied, worked, practiced and recorded with her friends. She could not be happier as not only she was doing everything she loved, but she was also extremely close to this one trainee she had liked for a rather long time.

Despite not having much contact with the japanese culture, Jia actually developed a gigantic love for everything related to Japan, from the fashion to the music, to the food and life style. Wanting to embrace more of her japanese descendance, she chose the stage name Mei and used it almost as her real name; all her friends called her Mei.
