Minho grew up under a rather simple household. A mundane life led to standard childhood.

That is, until he met a girl in his sophomore year of high school. Min Gyuri. The rest was history. They were high school sweet hearts that married immediately after graduation.

Gyuri went off to college to begin her journey to becoming a doctor, and Minho pursued the art of dance. He began in smaller studios, teaching courses open to the public and auditioning to larger companies on the side. Eventually, his hard work paid off, and with the right connections he landed himself a role in a professional dance company. Here, Minho spent his most formative dance years, training under renown coaches and excelling into the spot of head choreographer and artistic director. 

But while he loved the big stage productions, Minho couldn't give up teaching classes on the side, loving the engagement he had with fledgeling dancers too much to give up.

Everything changed, though, when Gyuri found out she was pregnant.   

At this stage in their lives, they weren't entirely ready to be parents. Gyuri's schooling involved long nights of studying and lengthy shifts at the various hospitals she interned in. Minho was constantly flying in and out of the city to practice and out on weekends to teach.

Neither of them were ready to be parents. 

Their relationship had begun crumbling before the pregnancy, too. And after so much arguing, they'd decided they were doing the whole "on a break thing". It almost seemed uncannily timed that Gyuri got pregnant... But they made the decision to stay together. The decision to be a family. For better or for worse. Minho accepted the fact that he was to become a father. And he would do his damned best to be the best one ever. 

Then... Mingyu was born. On October 31 2020. And he was the absolute, truest joy of Minho's life. 

But the birth of their son was not enough to fix an already crumbling marriage. Minho and Gyuri were arguing more than ever. Her pregnancy had been difficult. The birth worse. Regardless of what Minho did to try and reconcile with her, their marriage continued to crumble and she wanted less and less to do with him, and worse, their son. 

When Mingyu reached six months old, she packed up in the middle of the night and left. No note. No reason. Just gone. With no other option, Minho was thrown into the dual parent role and become the sole caretaker of his son.

Mingyu is currently 4 and something years old and was born on October 31 2020. Gyuri has had no contact with Minho or Mingyu since her departure when he was six months old. Their joint childhood friend Nayeon is Mingyu's godmother. She has stayed an active role in Minho and Gyu's life. Lee Dongmin is Minho's long-time friend and godfather to his son. 

Only a few months after Gyuri's departure, Minho was served with divorce papers. It took him a few years of receiving the papers (in tandem with some child support), for him to actually bring himself to sign. Her current housing location is unknown, but Minho does know that she is now a doctor at the Seoul City Hospital.   

Since joining DSF Entertainment, Minho has gone under the choreographer name Lee Know to have some privacy for his family. He's had the opportunity to guide and teach trainees that have since debuted, established idols and more. He's assisted on the Fair Game World Tour, as well as international showcases. He will occasionally fill in for injured members or be a place holder in choreographies where needed. 

 

Minho is a bit of a "classic dad" in the sense that his phone is full of photos of his son, he has two instagrams (one private one for his son and close friends, and one public persona dance one). He cried the first time he dropped Mingyu off at daycare. He's been the victim of the "baby voice" far too many times. Tends to baby name his son (Gyugyu, Gyubaby, Gyuman and more). 

As he and Gyu age, Minho has developed new life experiences. He met Quin, a woman overflowing with creativity and capable of making art out of nothing. Her free spirit and never ending support helped him build the courage to sign his divorce papers. And well... A certain Kim Yongsun maybe helped as well. 

He had no idea his heart could beat for another again. Yet, Yongsun... Or, well, most know her as Solar (yes, of DIA). When she smiles at him, he wishes he could blink and capture it as a photo to treasure. He's not sure what will come of things right now... But life is seeming a lot more colourful recently.
