Background: Much of what Chanhee remembers from his past is blanketed in greyscale. Much of his memories are fragmented at best as he suffered thanks to his parent's addictions, both in the womb and once he was born. His life back then was not horrible, not really. His brother and best friend always looked out for him once he was old enough to start stumbling around and getting under his parent's feet. They brought him food and taught him the skills that he would end up keeping him alive in the future. Even though he could barely keep up with him he was a part of their world, until Wooyoung got Yeonjun out. At the time he didn't understand where his family had gone and why his parents seemed to always be so mad with him. It took him a few more years before he started to understand what had happened, and where they were. At first he was angry about it, as angry as you can be at about 8, but angry nonetheless. Why had they chosen to leave him behind, was he not good enough? By the time he was 10 he understood that they couldn't have taken him.

He became more thankful to Wooyoung for saving Yeonjun and promised he would fight for as long as he could until he could get out as well until he found his path to freedom just as they had done, and maybe then he would find a way to meet up with them once again. Rather than playing around as he vaguely remembered watching Yeonjun do, he took to hiding away. When his parents dabbled too much he hid under his bed, when they were angry over something he hid in his closet. When he hid, he counted. He counted things, he counted time, and he counted his breaths. He started to find a love for numbers, trying to understand how they worked, and how they came together. When he managed to steal himself enough food he spent far too much time putting it into little piles and counting them out, basically teaching himself maths.

It became so routine that Chanhee actually forgot his original plan to escape. He could handle the rage, the drugging, everything else that came from living there, as long as he could count. That was until Wooyoung showed up one day. At first Chanhee had been happy to see him again until he realised that Wooyoung was very much alone. That was the day he'd run. Wooyoung had come back for him after all and they collected what they could before fleeing together. It took a little adjusting, and a lot of story time for Chanhee to get where he is now, running for the Hunters, keeping Wooyoung alive, and saving what he can to get everyone a place together so he can have his family back.
