- dongmin was born and raised in yeongwon to a loving family. his grandparents owned a hollabang farm while his parents ran yeongwon’s one and only tour guide business. 
- in high school, dongmin was fortunate enough to receive a scholarship to study business administration in seoul. no matter how much it hurt for his parents to let their last son go, they encouraged him to explore the city with bright smiles.
- honestly speaking, dongmin would have been fine attending the local university in jeju. he never understood the romanticized glamour and bustle of a place where one could feel so lonely in the most crowded of spaces. 
- during the end of sophomore year, dongmin found love in the photography section of a used bookstore. after graduation, they moved in together into a nice apartment in seoul while dongmin landed himself a cushy job at big consulting firm.

- it didn't take long for his girlfriend to notice how worn out he had become. for someone who always appreciated the small things in life, dongmin's eyes had lost their spark. still, out of her own selfishness she turned a blind eye and convinced herself that there would be a way to make him stay. 
- when dongmin was first presented with the ultimatum of marriage or a return to yeongwon, he didn't quite understand why he couldn't have both. his girlfriend was the one who wanted to settle down and raise children. she just couldn't see a future together in such a small town. 
- with a heavy heart, dongmin returned home to the clear blue skies and lush green fields that raised him. he tells himself that he is capable of loving, just that he hasn't found anyone he loves as much as yeongwon. 
- his parents were surprised, though secretly happy to welcome their youngest son back home. they'd gotten a bit lonely after both of their children left home.
