since he was very young, jaewon always lived with his grandmother in seoul. at age 12 he found his love for hip-hop as he was coming home from school, and saw a small rap crew busking on the street. ever since that day, jaewon would stop by to watch the group perform. he eventually started practicing by himself, and two years later started taking rap lessons only to major in music production when he got to university. at 14 was when he first realized he was gay, and at 16 he came out to his grandmother who reacted surprisingly well. but getting further and further involved with the underground rap community jaewon was sure it was best to just keep it a secret and so for long years he never told anyone about his uality. he found 'runaway island' by accident while browsing the internet. although he hadn't been sure about coming out so publicly like that, at age 23, he ended up joining the show and he is now oh-so-glad he did considering that's how he got to meet the love of his life.

jaewon is as shy, as he is an extrovert.  at times he will take the lead but there are others when he likes others to take the initiative. he's usually a cheerful and positive type of guy and he's that friend that says embarrassing that can get everyone into awkward situations. he also has an emotional and insecure side, though he hides it a lot, wanting to keep his cool image. he loves hip-hop and rap just as he loves dancing and music in general. he also loves going out with his friends, drinking, and having fun while living a free life.

being a music lover, jaewon had to make his life about it. after majoring in music production, he now works on his own music at home, creating his own beats and writing his own lyrics. all his music is based on his personal life experiences and when he's feeling confident he likes trying out for rap survival shows just to put his skills to test and see how far he can get.
