high school teacher
changwook was born and raised in the city but had the opportunity to do his student teaching in a small town called dandelion. the sense of community and connection between residents touched him in a way that he could never put into words. it was completely different from the city he was used to and he wanted to stay interwoven in this community that meant so much to one another for a long, long time. as a result, changwook has been living and teaching at the dandelion high school for twelve years, having taught pretty much everybody under thirty.
changwook generally spends his personal life doing,,, not so personal things. he volunteers extensively with the town and when he's not volunteering, he's doing some sort of busywork for the school, though he does make time to see his favorite at least once a month and every major holiday (even if it's just a day). he has an older sister who's been his moral compass for as long as he could remember and a brother in law he would trust with his life as well as two teenage (already!?) nephews who he dotes as if they were his own. his parents are kind folk who support him living his life in dandelion as he was always an introverted geeky kid who never got out when he was in the city. in terms of romantic relationships, changwook had a long-term college girlfriend in the city that he saw every weekend for about 8 years, but the two split after it became clear that he wasn't leaving dandelion and she wasn't leaving the city. the two left on good terms and he was actually the best man at her wedding about three years ago as the two met through him. ever since the two of them split, changwook has been investing his time in the town, raising the kids of dandelion as if they were his own children. changwook actually has no idea that it's been twelve years since he's started teaching and still thinks that he's young - well, he's only 35, but it completely slips his mind that his peers are mostly married or with kids while he's still doing the same thing he's been doing for the past twelve years.
