Coming from a poor background, Oscar was determined to prove himself worthy enough as a warrior despite his lacking physical strength. His sense of duty and nobility is so overwhelming that it costed him a right arm which was severely burned during an attempt to rescue a child from a fire. Hopefully due to the cold climate no one bothered to ask about his constantly covered limb. From then on, he merely serves the royals to feed his old mother and the rescued boy, but deep down he loathes their kind since a general was considered the one responsible for the fire that night. Thanks to his excellent swordsmanship skills no one suspects him of having a disability and that's the only reason he's allowed to guard the royals and attend various missions instead of being punished for withholding that fact from everyone.
