A puppet created for greatness, or a life caged in depending how one looked at it. Meant to hold the archon's gnosis and play the part of God to the people. Yet, the puppet shed tears as they were given life, not wanting the fate they were made for nor wanting to be discarded as a result. His creator took pity, yet not enough. Casting the nameless, heartless being out on his own.

 

Countless years were spent aimlessly traveling, learning, and observing. The Yashiori locals would murmur rumors of a wandering eccentric, a title that stuck to the inhabitants of the island even after he eventually befriended Katsugari. The Gods he harbored hatred for, but he pondered if he could trust humankind.

 

The betrayal of his former friend was what taught him to trust no one, and returning to wandering was what they did. Some years later meeting a Fatui diplomat, and intrigued by their mission, he decided to join them. Shedding past names, titles, and taking on Scaramouche, number six of the eleven Fatui Harbingers.

The attempt they made at using the Fatui for personal gain had gone not according to plan, having been slain then rebirthed thanks to the kind he hated most, an archon. His memories of his past life weren't known to him, nor the knowledge that he wasn't human until the traveler and dendro archon let him reclaim, relive his life.

No longer known by the Fatui or the world, it was another period of detaching aliases and starting anew. The name Shoma was decided for him, and although a God saved him he still had no interest in siding with Celestia.
