The Story

Part I

Long ago, there are a few proud family of witches that contriduted a lot in the city of Illias, a city of witches. One of those family were the Kim Family of the North, they lived in the north of Orenda but they hold the power within Illias. However, they had a fallout when they discovered that there was an incident that killed two innocent vampires because of dark magic. People suspect that the Kim family did this as they have the history of using dark magic and such, the Lysian Council had decided to dropped out the Kim of the North from the council and exiled to their hometown.

Many years later, the family were still condemned by their own people in the north as the stigma of their family using dark magic fears them even though their family had long abandoned using dakr magic and trying to recover their honor after the incident. Out of all the families that were involved in that incident, the Kims were most affected. All the blames are on them, until a beautiful girl was born at the 1st day of the new year.

Minjeong is the only child of the remaining family of Kim of the North. Her mother and father were blessed as Minjeong is a peculiar child with her skin as white as snow and her hair is as black as the night, they raised her like a normal kid and at a young age she's been helpful towards her mother and father.

The age of 5, Minjeong was playing with other kids when all of a sudden, one of them fell on the ground and hit his head on the ground. Minjeong quickly ran to him and checked on him, he was bleeding and as soon as she touched his head, a small ice was formed around the wound to stop the bleeding. The other kids were shocked to see that Minjeong has ice powers and most of them were terrified, knowing that the Kim Family were mostly born in Winter, they can generate ice. Few months later, no one wanted to play with her and this made her lonely and alone.

Chapter II

A few years later, Minjeong learned the truth about her family being the outcasts among the people in their hometown and why they stay away from the town itself. In just a span of a few decades, their properties dwindled until they could only live in small brick home away from the being seen by their own people.

Then at the age of 7, Minjeong was seen healing a pet dog of one of her childhood friends and a few days later, that friend died along with her pet dog because of a disease. Now the blame for the deaths was on her, they thought she cursed her friend and the dog using dark magic and that was the last straw of people in their hometown.

They had no choice but to run away from the angry mob, the townspeople lit their house, their home, on fire as they ran away. Minjeong cried in her mother's arms as her father made sure they are safe.

"Everything is going to be fine, trust me." The father told them, he caressed little Minjeong's face gently and hugged their only daughter. "You are not a monster." Her mother uttered those words as Minjeong kept doubting herself at a young age as she is the only one who can control ice among her family. She never this will be the last time she could hug them.

That cold Winter night, some of the angry mob saw the family residing in a cave and decided to assassinate them while they were sleeping. However, the attempt was failed when Minjeong woke up and subconsciously created an ice monster to protect them, killing a man in the process. Witnessing this, the other man called the people for back up and starts to attack the ice monster with torches and melted on the ground. Minjeong, her father and mother, ran away as the ice monster bought their time to escape.

However, it was unsuccessful. While Minjeong was being carried by her mother in her arms, arrows were shot at them. The townspeople hired some merciless mercenaries to take the family out, the father was shot by arrows multiple times, witnessing the death of her loving father, Minjeong cried out as she holds on to her mother. But another arrow was show on her mother's back, the little girl was shocked but the mother kept on running until one assailant drew its blade on her back, falling on the ground with Minjeong.

Seeing their blood on the white snow, Minjeong knew both of her mother and father were gone. Memories of them flowed inside her mind, all the happiest memories now shattered by the cold and harsh reality. That moment, Minjeong's hair turned blonde and her orbs became icy blue. She screamed as her power awakened, blinded by rage and sorrow, she summoned hordes of ice monsters and drew out ice spikes from the ground. Some of the mercenaries were killed and some ran away from the abomination.

Once all of them had fled, Minjeong exhausts her newly awakened power and went back to her normal self as she blacked out, lying in the thick snow with the lifeless body of her mother and father...

Part II

Chapter I

Another family of witches saw a poor girl lying on a snow with her dead family, she carried the unconscious Minjeong and buried her mother and father in a pleasant place where the little girl would visit afterwards. They took Minjeong in and treated her wounds.

By the time Minjeong woke up, she was in the different room, a lavish room with a big bed and a big room. The witches who took care of her told her that they saw her unconscious and that's where Minjeong realized that both of her mother and father were gone. She starts breaking down and the witches comforted her.

In the years that followed, the witches adopted Minjeong and surprisingly they are also Winter witches and taught her how to control her powers. She grew up being cold and distant, blunt and ruthless, introverted in her own way.

They trained her but not as easy as the training with ordinary witches, Minjeong endured those harsh training not just her powers but also her physical and mental prowess. One of those harsh training was her imprisoned in a large cube of thick ice for 7 days without food and drink, she had to preserve her mind and had to focus her goal to be one of the members of the Lysian Council, to get revenge on what they did to her family years ago. 

She passed many trainings to control her power that could create many ice monsters, however using that kind of ability would cost to take away minutes of her life. Minjeong prefers to use ice spikes instead, can be offense and defense, depending on what kind of situation she might get into.

Minjeong was no longer the kind-hearted girl that people used to know, they took away the things that kept her happy. She became cold and merciless, unforgiving and antagonistic witch that no one should mess with.
