Why would I let go of everything I worked so hard for just to keep you by my side?

Minho, to put it simply, always had to fight for something; the best grades in his class, to get on the basketball team, and before the age of 15 he had to fight to get his drunken father to stop putting his hands on his mother. His father was far bigger than he was, far stronger, but that never stopped him from trying, even if that meant he got bombarded with questions about the black eye he sported the next day at school. In an effort to grow strong enough to defend his mother, Minho joined the local boxing gym, where he first started out doing simple workouts to build up his form. When he felt he needed more, Minho took up actual routines, working with real trainers whom complimented him on his constant ability to fix something as soon as it was asked of him, his ability to adapt and adjust so easily. "Ever thought about training professionally?" The question came no sooner than a year later, leaving the boy, admittedly, a bit flustered. It had crossed his mind a few times, but for the most part his main concern had been making sure his mom was safe, something that had worked surprisingly well since he joined. Minho assumed there was nothing to worry about and with his mom's encouragement, he started on his career of becoming a professional boxer.

He enjoyed boxing. It wasn't just something that helped relieve his stress, but he found himself gaining a lot of friends from people he competed against, sparred with, or simply people that went to the same gym as he did. The high that he got after a fight, too, was something that was simply indescribable. Through a mutual friend, Minho found his first love. She had never been exactly fond of his sport of choice, but she remained supportive and never missed a match. They remained together for another three years, his enthusiasm never curbed but her 'support' slowly dwindling over time, until she could no longer hold it in. She wanted him to stop boxing. She always dreamed of one day marrying Minho and having kids with him, of him having a less dangerous profession, and she wanted to have that with him there, in France. They engaged in a heated argument, Minho saying things to her that he knew would hurt her feelings but didn't care, because she had hurt his too. He wasn't proud of it. The guilt still settled deep within him a week later, his mother driving him to the airport where he boarded a plane to Seoul, at nineteen years old. Now twenty-four, Minho has been boxing for six years and still can't find the time, or effort, to settle down.

Chews on his lip and bounces his leg whenever he's anxious. Slips French into his speech without even noticing whenever he's angry. Has a tendency to overwork himself because he doesn't know when to relax/thinks he's being lazy if he isn't doing something. Lies too quickly without thinking.

I encourage you telling me any ideas or plots that you already have in mind, but I also do not mind brainstorming. I work full time and so my activity can be spotty here and there.
