| family : the baes have resided in hanbit for generations, serving as a cornerstone of the community. hanbit is their home and they've stuck through the town through thick and thin between disasters, economic turmoil, and the population boom as the town opens its arms to foreigners. the hanbit community center is largely run by the baes and their evergrowing family, providing services to citizens who are struggling or just need a little help to get back on their feet. when hanbit's foreign population are unable to go back home for the holidays, their home is open to all to celebrate and feel like family because to the baes, everyone in town is family.
jisoo is the oldest son to his young parents and he has three younger siblings whom he dotes on more than anything else in the world. he's incredibly protective of his younger sister, who's just a year younger than him, and would do anything to make sure she doesn't get hurt because *he's* the only person allowed to tease and mess with her. he also has two younger brothers, 7 and 15 years younger than him, who he treats like his own children. jisoo could be seen often taking his siblings to and from school and playing with the kids in town.
| childhood : hanbit was like one big family for jisoo. although he's the oldest in his family, he often felt as if the other kids in the neighborhood were like older siblings to him, often latching himself onto older groups of friends and wishing they were really his older siblings. following their example, jisoo often transformed himself into an idealized version of an older sibling to his own siblings, but often found himself retracting that idea once it was in motion and teasing his siblings instead (only to give in at the end).
jisoo spent a large portion of his childhood at the community center as his family would bring the kids to play as they provided community service, even having the kids help out with things they were able to handle. jisoo quickly learned how to be hospitable in this environment, often taking the initiative to serve the community. he was raised to love the town as his own family, continuing the bae tradition of serving the town.
| education : growing up in hanbit, jisoo went to hanbit preschool, elementary school, junior high, and high school, graduating with average grades and high marks in community service. he went to a local community college where he would commute from hanbit and joined multiple committees which served the community. eventually, jisoo decided that he wanted to pursue a career in elementary education as he noticed the same school teachers from when he was young aging while taking his brother to school, wanting to make sure hanbit's next generation would have as rewarding of an early education as he did. for his degree, jisoo moved out of hanbit to live close to university and would come back to visit during the weekends when he wasn't overloaded with school and work.
| adulthood : recently graduated with a bachelor's degree in elementary education, jisoo is currently serving his first probationary year as an elementary teacher to third-graders in hanbit. between work and community service, which he still engages in, jisoo attends seminars and workshops to brush up in skills in areas that he didn't know he needed until he began working.
after he moved out for college, his younger brother took over his room in his family home, so he currently lives in a house with three other working adults, similar to the living situation he had in college.
