appearance. pale to an extreme, with skin that carries a blue tint. her lips are blue, her eyes are grey. abrasions are present on her wrists, usually light. she has long hair that is currently pink and a pretty face... for a dead girl. sometimes her skin goes from bluish white to creeping with pale blue, veins dark, lips turning black, eyes sunken and filmy, fingertips black, the abrasions dark to an ugly sign of rope burn... before the water pours from her nose and mouth, beyond her control. 

 

style. black clothes. hoodies. always wears a mask to hide her face. she can dress up, but she saves it for occasions. most of the time she's got on shorts and a baggy hoodie with the hood yanked over her messy bun while she hacks into someone's personal files.

background. she was born from a non-magical human's union with a warlock, and that was where the trouble began. her mother didn't want her, and pawned her off on the hunter organization mortem. placed in squad 719, lian was raised by ailell brier. even though she trained with the rest of them, lian never had it in her to hunt 'monsters' like her peers did. she was too soft, too sensitive and she turned her attention to tech training, learning to hack and operate a comm station.

 

(when ailell realized she had powers, he taught her how to control and hide them. it was the only way to keep her safe.)

 

but she considered squad 719 her family until the bitter end... 

 

...and the end was, indeed, bitter. betrayed by the person she held most dear, mu lian was publicly executed by mortem. they waterboarded her until she wasn't breathing, in front of all the people she had considered family — save for ailell, where was ailell? — and they made an example out of her.

 

there was something about realizing she was dead, staring down at her own body, that made everything clear to lian. why ailell had been so protective of her, until he wasn't there when he needed her the most. why he didn't trust her around lian. 

 

she had been murdered, and she was going to make everyone responsible suffer.
