Kim Hongjoong was born on November 7th, 1998, in Busan, South Korea, into an average family as an elder brother with a younger sister. At home, everything in his life was pretty good, but his father never liked the fact that he wanted to be an idol. It's just that he judged it as an unstable career. Despite this, Hongjoong loved music and found his escape in it.

By the time he was 21, Hongjoong had to work in a local café just to survive. That was when his destiny found him-one day, a talent scout appeared and asked if he wanted to do a contract with them. They promised him an immediate debut in a boy group, so he decided to take this opportunity and moved to Seoul to begin training. Two years later, he managed to debut with four other boys, but their dreams did not last too long. Pressed by the company they debuted under, which went bankrupt within less than a year, they had no choice but to dismiss their group.

Disappointed, Hongjoong went back to Busan and continued working at the café, though the fire of his dream still burned within him. A year later, a representative from DSF came to the café and remembered him from his previous group. Impressed with the stubbornness of the teenager, after noticing his talent, he introduced him to DSF management. Hongjoong decided to give a new fresh start to the idol life for the second time.

Now, as a trainee under DSF for the past year, Hongjoong has been honing his skills even further, actually being sent to the US to take part in specialized vocal training for 6 months. He is scheduled to debut once again this time with DSF's newest boy group, ready to prove he has it in him to make it in the industry.
