- comes from a long line of royal fae on his father's side while his mother's side is a wild fae from across the seas
- ran away from the fae court in the west when he was still very young (he's a couple centuries old now)
- the journey was very rough and he was near death when he arrived
- luckily he came across beomgyu who helped heal and save him, nurtured him to grow into the man he is now
- took him a long while to let go of the trauma of his past and even now he sometimes slips back into the old ways on bad days
- the current hyuka is very bright and open, one would be forgiven for assuming he'd never had a tough day in his life upon meeting 
- beomgyu was the only one who saw what he was really like before and its not a topic hyuka voluntarily brings up too often
- met soobin when he was tending to one of his gardens
- rough start but he helped teach and show soobin that he wasn't there to harm him and got a sick scar along the way
- ironically the betrothal he ran from was one to beomgyu and its made hyuka believe in things like fate
- at some time he met taehyun before he became a familiar, was very attached to the 'pretty bird' until one day he lost him: they've reunited since 
- as a nature fae he is very in tune with his environment and experiences shifts in his mood easily, for better or worse
- animals, plants, he welcomes all kinds and treats each one with the same amount of respect he'd like to be shown (probably the resident bug catcher)
- enjoys long naps, plushies, food and cuddles with his hyungs where possible
- a free spirit, more keen on looser fitting clothes, earthy colours and the evening hours of the day when the physical and spiritual barriers of this world are at their thinnest 
- wings are mostly transparent with a glow-like quality to them most noticed at night time, he also has scars around his shoulder blades where on his journey to freedom people tried searing his wings off with iron
- hyuka's left wing is slightly frayed at the edges from another attack as fae wings are a strong source of magic and sought after mercilessly 
- doesn't like shoes, only wears when he absolutely has to and even then its a chore
- love language: quality time, physical touch and words of affirmation
- he has a locket which is his only possession he left his original home with, inside is a painted picture of his two sisters whom he has not seen since running away
- seeing as fleeing his home was not a nice occasion and neither were his travels, hyuka's body has many scars on it, some bigger than others but all having turned silver in colour over the years and evoke images of kintsugi
- one of his bigger scars is from when soobin attacked him out of fear, it stretches over his left shoulder down to his waist
- hyuka is skilled in magic and draws on nature to perform it, if he's in an area that's particularly lacking in flora or fauna then he becomes uncomfortable, moody and irritable
- part of his magic is having learned to craft potions and even poisons, while he's learned to heal as well, he enjoys playing with making even his kisses poisonous but not deadly (unless he wants to)
- for some other bits of magic he does, he can help flora grow, communicate with animals and use his environment to his advantage (like utilising vines when his own two hands are busy)
