Kathrine (friends call her Kat) grew up in a coven of expansive witches. The natural elements, with a secret mix of the unnatural (blood magic spesfically being the most taboo). Obětovat (oh-be-yet-trovat) was amoung the most sticking titles the nomadic group was called back in the day. Their experiements into blood magic were bonding rituals done by every memeber of the said coven. They were stronger together as a group then they were apart, and no one was supicious of such binding. It was seen as a gift of sacred passage from the ansestors to their people... and it fledged into immortality...with a price that only few were aware of, until it was too late...

No man or woman of Obětovat could bear children for the rest of their exsistance...

This lead the group to become even tighter knit, as they only had each other and they all had to survive. 

Katherina Tepes, who later changed her name to Katherine Mcnamara, was amoung the last children to ever be born within the coven. She was gifted like her mother before her with the ability to call on fire. She has a "tattoo" of a phoenix inbetween her shoulder blades (her skin was cut of in the shape of the bird, and then soaked in the ashes of her father whom passed when she was 15).

Some of her fellow teachers are aware of her beginnings, but most are left in bliss. There was no point in telling those who didn't need to know. While Katherine appear very young, she has walked the earth for over an century. She loves firey spirits in her classrooms and encourages individualism, but she is wiser then she initially appears. She's a quick reader and exstremly skilled in hand to hand combat, hence she teaches self defense and exercise courses along with elemental magic.
