"He's so gorgeous, like he's a greek god." so close! but instead of a cool, serious god like zeus or ares, his dad is that drunk loser, dionysus. his mother met dionysus at a new years eve party in australia. according to her, mr d was the life of the party, full of charm and charisma. so much charm, he managed to woo the otherwise stuck up lawyer that is jacob's mom. and then left her to raise the chaotic demigod all on her own. she would eventually marry another successful person, his step-mom was an investment banker and brought her two kids into the relationship.  

in school, Jacob was a chameleon. he could tell his teachers just the right things to skirt by trouble, he got along well with everyone for the most part. but he never took his studies seriously, preferring to go out partying than studying for exams. his mother would yell at him for not taking anything seriously, for caring about no one but himself. maybe if he had listened to her sooner, things would be different. he ruined his moms' wedding reception, he dropped out of college, stuck around the house and lived off their money. his siblings loved him cuz he looked out for them the best he could.

one night, his world came to a screeching halt. As he was out partying as he always did, a few of his friends decided to drive out to the middle of nowhere to cool off. as jacob was leaning against the car, nursing from a bottle of wine, he heard one of his friends scream. when jacob arrived, he saw his friend's leg trapped between the jaws of a crocodile. without hesitation, he straddled on the croc's back and punched its head, prying open the jaws to free his friend. before the croc could lunge to attack again, the nearby leaves and vines wrapped around the animal, dragging it back into the waters. it was on this night that he was claimed by his godly parent, even though he wasn't sure what it meant. after telling his mom, she knew jacob had to leave to somewhere he'd be safe - sending him to camp half blood.

greedy, selfish, hedonistic, arrogant, charming, silver tongued. all words that have been used to describe jacob. he's perfect, he's flawed, he seeimgly cares for nothing but living for today. after all, why worry about death, loneliness, or struggling when you're young? and untouchable. 

Somewhere underneath all the charming facade, is still a human heart.  he could never bring himself to admit it, but he cares about the campers, wants to make sure they don't get got out in the world. after a notorious dionysus family party, he's first to make sure everyone's taken care of and somewhere safe. that is, if he isn't hooking up with the body of the week.
