Emerald; a precious jewel, rarer and often more expensive than the ever-coveted diamonds. The color of a pure emerald represents wealth, harmony, and safety—three principles her family lives by. Her name signifies the De Lisles' loyalty to their house, as generations of their family have been strictly sorted into Hogwarts' house Slytherin.

 

The Pure-Blood Directory established that only twenty-eight wizarding families in the UK were "truly pure-blood".  The Yaxley family was considered to be a part of this Sacred Twenty-Eight. 

Up until Corban's branch, the members directly linked to the Yaxley bloodline have all married into other pureblood families.  Verena Yaxley, Corban's daughter, married a muggle-born, while her brother, Verteris, stayed true to the family's values and married Sena Ryu, who hails from a sacred family listed in the South Korean Pure-Blood Directory. 

Grandfather.  Corban Yaxley was a Dark wizard and Death Eater who fought during the First and Second Wizarding War alongside Voldemort.  Corban Yaxley aided the Dark Lord in infiltrating the Ministry of Magic by becoming the Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement.  

Currently, he is imprisoned in Azkaban for his warcrimes against Muggle-borns. 

Emerald did not know of her relation to him up until she was 22 years old, as her father had gone through great lengths to cut off his connection to the Death Eater. 

Father.  Verteris De Lisle is a respected name in the wizarding community.  He is known for his career with the professional quidditch team, Montrose Magpies, which he played seeker for from seasons 2000 to 2006.  Before joining the Magpies, Verteris played chaser for a French team for 4 years. 

Currently, Verteris works for the Ministry of Magic as the Head of the Department of the British and Irish League.  

Although Verteris charmingly portrays himself as a "family man" in the eyes of the public, he prioritizes work over spending time with his family.  Thus, he never truly bothered to build a loving relationship with Emerald (although he expects her to make him proud through her accomplishments).  

Verteris also values the ancient belief of "blood purity" and supremacy.  Thus, he married a pure-blood and heavily criticizes any family member who does not follow the tradition of marrying into notably pure-blood families.  Verena, his sister (and in turn, her children), as well as his own daughter, Emerald, are the only two who have received his scorn thus far. 

Mother.  Sena is one of three daughters to the Ryu family, which is one of the sacred pure-blood wizarding families in South Korea.  Her relationship with the Ryu family, as far as Emerald knows, is nonexistent.  

Sena attended the Beauxbatons Academy of Magic and briefly played for France's Quiberon Quafflepunchers.  She met her husband, Verteris, during one of their rival games.  

Currently, Sena works for the Ministry of Magic as Head of the Department of the Obliviator Headquarters.  

For as long as Emerald can remember, Sena had always been withdrawn as a mother.  It was only until Emerald learned about her sister's existence when she discovered and understood why. 

Currently, Emerald and Sena are slowly fixing their relationship, although time will only tell if the time they already lost is too great to repair. 

Biological sister.  The youngest daughter of the De Lisle family.  When a seer falsely foretold that Sapphire would be born a squib, Verteris ordered that she be removed to avoid "dirtying" the bloodline.  Shortly after her birth, Sena anonymously delivered Sapphire to a muggle family's doorstep, who took her in and raised her as one of her own until adulthood. 

Emerald did not know of her sister's existence up until the first few weeks of her fifth year, in 2020.  

Currently, Emerald is trying to build a stable relationship with her sister by offering the younger support whenever she needs it. 

Paternal aunt.  Her father's sister.  Verena was the first known member of the Yaxley bloodline to break the tradition of only marrying from pureblood families.

Emerald does not have a relationship with her. 

Paternal cousin.  Verena's first-born child and the first half-blood member in the bloodline.  

While Verteris forbade his wife and daughter from forming close relationships with his sister's "dirtied" family, Emerald found a friend in her elder cousin.  He was at worst her best friend, and at best her brother.  They were practically inseparable in their youth, often finding peaceful company with one another when everyone else their age became too overwhelming to deal with.  The first time they had truly been apart was when his anger and recklessness caused his banishment from Hogwarts grounds.  

They have not seen each other since. 

Paternal cousin.  Verena's second-born child and the second half-blood member in the bloodline.  

Emerald, regretfully, had never been able to form a bond with her.  She supposed it was their differences in age that set them apart. 

 

Emerald was considered a star student, having maintained top marks in all of her classes in every year.  She was nothing if not a hard worker who prioritized her academics over anything else, including her own relationship. 

She was appointed as Prefect of house Slytherin in her fifth year and maintained that title up until seventh year, when Headmistress McGonagall chose her to be the school's Head Girl.

Emerald earned an Outstanding [O] in all of her exams except for Herbology and Divination, which she only received an Exceeds Expectations [E] for both.

Emerald joined Slytherin's quidditch team in her fourth year as a chaser and kept this position until graduation.  She was exceptionally good at this sport, proving that she was, indeed, Verteris De Lisle's daughter (although her father was a chaser in both Hogwarts and his professional team, the Montrose Magpies). 

Emerald also enjoyed Apparition and Flight, not because she needed to take the classes, but because she believed they were easy grades to add to her transcript. 

Emerald graduated at the top of her class and was immediately sworn in as Auror for the British Ministry of Magic in May 2023. 

Emerald is currently reaching her first full year as an Auror.  She has proved to be an exceptional addition to the Wizard Law Enforcement, as she especially excels in wand combat.  Emerald has not disclosed to her coworkers or superiors about her aptitude for legilimency.
